3 weeks ago our department was told that our jobs have been eliminated. We will be getting displaced in 3-4 months. Work going to India and Philippines. We haven’t received written notice yet. There’s about 60 of us across the country getting displaced
The big moves in Q1 already happened, the public announcement of the upcoming layoffs, FRTO, PIPs, consolidating work and scaled back raises were part of the "encouraged" attrition.
Q2 is going to be measuring the impact, and seeing how it measures up against the goals of the company.
Toward the end of Q2 is when the biggest changes will roll out. They want anyone who is willing to leave on their own already out the door before they have to start getting together severance packets, and they gave them half a year to do it. We earmarked almost 1 billion dollars but that's not how much Charlie wants to actually give out.
This timeline was set back in Nov to lower that 1b cost as much as possible, specifically. That was the highest priority. Super Tuesday is not a milestone.
While there have been promises of a Biden incentives getting kicked around to encourage big employers to keep their workers in America, but even if that goes through, it wouldn't change this timeline. It's in motion.
It’s too late. Anyone who is laid off now is still on payroll another 60 days until they get severance.
