With these latest layoffs and how they were handled, the trust is completely gone. I think we'll be seeing more people make the decision to leave because who wants to work at a place where the leadership has proven to be both untrustworthy and incompetent? I know I don't.

Layoffs happen because people don’t hold corporations accountable. Record profits and layoffs? How much money is enough? Stop saying people who demand better are whining because I think together we are Winning! Be heard.
I know there are different budgets, but there sure as he-l is a lot of things fidelity could cut if they wanted to save money and not mess up lives. Team lunches, outings, all the free snacks, toys and equipment, etc.
They are still hiring, weeding out the underperforming employees

Sounds like "grow up" = "give up". Asking to be treated with respect by a company that makes billions in profit is not ridiculous.
It probably is naive but I for one won't be complacent or happy with a company that doesn't respect me.
It’s time for a lot of you to grow up!! It’s the real world. You are not entitled to know all the answers to why there are layoffs. If you can’t figure it out on your own then you’re in for a long miserable life.

There is no excuse for the company handling it this way. I don't like the answer of "other companies also handle layoffs poorly". We shouldn't have such low expectations of our employers.

I approve the cut but like the OP said, disapprove the way the cut is handled. It's the company's integrity that's the question. I'll continue work for Fidelity, only because better opportunities haven't come up, yet.
I approve Meta's, even AWS' approach to cut, at least they're honest about the numbers.
No. You won’t see people leave over this. And you probably won’t leave either. Layoffs happen. They’re never fun. And nobody ever at any company is happy with how they are handled. And if you think it’s better at any other company, you are mistaken. Likely relatively new to the working world.
