Maybe, talk to your manager. Chances are if you are on a team that has work moving offshore or being digitized there are going to be lay offs as a result.
This is really the only time managers have a say in who gets let go. And if we have folks that would leave voluntarily, that would be much easier than having to choose someone who would be left in a bad position if they lost their job.
