Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D9 Contract

There is no mention from the union, protecting the transfer of work from other titles, except core technicians.
Service reps have had their work transfered to lowered paid contractors, cell phone representatives and even management. This is an ongoing issue.
The committee is only focused on technician work because they are all techs.
You are going to have a hard time selling a strike if the focus is tech centered.

…it’s been almost 20 years….the best way to affect change is through unified contracts and/or dates.

Unity comes in different ways such, as regional contracts and employees. Work with what you have until you are able to affect change.

Unity is the answer…..as we have multiple separate contracts with separate expiration dates.

It’s going to be hot soon, lets wait till it’s at least 90 out, be a nice break for us outside techs. Let the CP handle it for a while, they could use some sun.

“ Unity is the answer, ”

Division and isolation couldn’t more true during this negotiation.

Unity is the answer, we stuck together in D3 during our last contract bargaining. All walked when we had a ULP strike. Contract got settled quickly thereafter.

Last day to vote is this Thursday, an overwhelming strike vote is leverage for the bargaining team which, will probably need to be enacted before this is over. Unfair Labor Practice is up. A month or two is good for me.

Point of thread is. Don't ask us to strike because your core work is being transfered to Prem Techs.

Show up to monthly meetings in numbers, voice your concerns, vote out the old and bring in new leadership if, they aren’t taking your issues seriously. One can also take it up with the district office, find out who is your State rep/steward and contact them also to voice your concerns.

Some people love to complain but don’t do anything about it or offer solutions. Don’t be a victim, be proactive!

Every customer care, customer service, sales associate, and service rep in every district has been affected over the last several YEARS. They never even bothered to show up to the meetings when entire departments were being shut down and shipped off.

Staff Associate here. My title is being obliterated with management indirectly doing our work, foreign workers managing our systems....no word from the bargaining team to protect has. They only care about Core tech work.
