Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Platinum

The position of a Platinum seller is a joke when you really think about it. You are assigned to a set of customers that only you can sell to however others still sell to and there’s nothing you can do about it. Also you can only sell into the pre assigned white space accounts. How is ATT going to predefine a business that isn’t with ATT already. Who ever makes the sale should get paid, whether it’s a rsc, bat rep, sp, or an IHX rep. By assigning them to only a platinum rep, the company stops other sellers from prospecting, they literally think a bigger potential account is already assigned to a platinum seller. Some platinum sellers have only been with the company for 6 months and don’t even know what a TOBR is. Platinum won’t last long, it’s just a step above BAT with shady sales and they will best next.

You can also add fiber.

Sad but true. The clients want to keep the same rep for years but that never happens, there is CONSTANT turnover in this space and they move reps around all the time and frustrate the client. If they could have stability of teams and staff it would be more achievable but this is not reasonable in a large company like T.

Cell phone service is commodity, Everyone has it now. No need to do business with a company that has 9 layers of "management". That is an incredibly top heavy business model, especially when every level puts their finger in the pie.
There is fraud at every level, you know this and the ride is about to be over.

AT&T is conducting a much overdue cleaning of the business.
That is a good thing.

I agree with you 100%. Imagine you’re the customer though and twice a year you’re introduced to a new Platinum seller. It’s ridiculous that the company thinks they can reassign relationships left and right.

You're thinking about it from your perspective and not the customer's. A large company does not want 15 different people from 15 different parts of AT&T calling them and saying they want to come sell them something. They want to work with one person that represents the whole company. They want them to build a relationship with them. They want them to take the time to get to know their company and care about their company's success as much as they do their commission check. Not sell something and run.
