Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Fiber is done

Last few days of fiber dragging this company down. The clock is ticking. Small cell is the shining star of this company. Towers are going extinct like the dinosaurs on that side of the business.

Did they just say that the fiber review is complete and fiber is for sale?

Wow so much for that RIF and big announcement. You won’t know when the RIFs coming.

The earnings call is in 2.5 hours. If there was a RIF, the company would have informed us by now. People need to relax and stop with the rumors.

Fiber margins stink and scn was never much better. The nepos at South points where intimidated w the Nextg folks all the way back in 2012 and chased most of them away.

The Nepos have intimidated and bullied absolutely everyone we've purchased. Then it takes 10 nepos to do the job that 2 merger employees used to do because nepos know better and need to reinvent the wheel. Draining the margins. Its a never ending su-k.

What's funny is, no one knows how to run a fiber business here at Crown. Too many people in place because of diversity and inclusion. Fiber could be a real gem if we had valuable captains on this ship. Fiber is do fine as a separate entity or sold to someone who knows the industry.
Either way it makes money.
What left is a real estate company not a tower company.

What are you going to do when earnings comes and goes with no RIF. Stop using it as an excuse not to work. There isn’t going to be a RIF get back to work.

Pay someone else to install the fiber? That's not a hard question to answer.

As for ROI and how many are colo'd that information is accessible on connect.

I am sorry, what is the return on the small cells? What percentage are multi-tenant? Not as high as they had hoped!

As for fiber pulling the company down, maybe it was management of the combined assets! As individual companies we were all profitable.

If the fiber business is sold off, how are you going to get the signal to the cells?

I love how you come at another division when the whole ship was mismanaged by the same captain and crew. No one is coming out on top of this one.

If you think satellites will replace standard radio please find a new industry because you don't understand wireless at all if you

Starlink requires a 100 degree cone unobstructed view of the sky and that's before you consider any technical limitations of enough frequency bandwidth traveling to space.

“All satellites need a ground source. You haven’t worked in this industry long if you don’t know that. It is telecom 101”

That’s your problem, you think the industry isn't changing. It was good while it lasted, you should be grateful for that. Maybe you should put an application in to Starlink?

“Starlink is gonna put everything out of business here in the next couple of years”

Sure seems that way. Check out the YouTube video of the Starlink FCC filing from 2 days ago.

Might even start feeling the effects of it sooner as carriers won’t want to do long term leases because of the changing technology that is coming.
