Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I'm tired of blatant favoritism

Why is it okay for managers to have their favorites and not even try to hide it? Why is it allowed for the rest of us on our team to do all the work and for one person who did barely anything to get all the credit? I'd go to HR about this, but I know they're useless as well.

HR is useless in this company. They do not vet the employees they hire anymore. They have zero interest in creating a good culture and balanced workplace. They are just paper movers waiting for lawsuits to hand over to vz counsel.

Verizon is a sh-t hole. We have managers that are sh-t lazy. Play favorites all the time. Lazy managers promoting lazy ppl. When deserving candidates ask for promotion, managers and directors instruct them to take on more work. Promotion should be based on experience and skillset. But Verizon management seems to think otherwise by forcing employees to take on more work, while their favorites fly under the radar with no additional tasks or projects given to them. Happens all the time. Some ppl are just there to retire and say it openly and management knows these folks but choose to look other way. Since they are in the same boat aswell. Bad managers and bad upper management ruining work environment by playing favorites. When there is time to shine, they put forward their lazy favorites by claiming other team members hard work. Thankyou Verizon for ki-ling motivation, innovation and out of box thinking. You lazy sh---y management should all be kicked out. Let's hope Sampath don't become the CEO after our favorite sh-t hole Hans. They have ki-led what Verizon used to be, ki-led innovation and motivation in the employees.

Would you be complaining if you were one of the favorites?

Favoritism has been around since the beginning of human existence. Good luck proving it with your attorneys. GOOD LUCK IN GETTING ANOTHER JOB

On an old team, we had “favorites” who were basically not receiving tickets for their entire shift. Didn’t work a lick of overtime. On some special project. When director had to decide who to lay off these guys got the boot because they had 0 tickets worked in the last QUARTER.

This one makes me question the person typing this. Coming from a manager, you sound like 1 of 2 things could be happening. 1- you are the mediocre rep that may have a good day here and there, maybe even a good month occasionally, but you don’t proactively make calls, you call out a lot at the beginning of the year, or you start drama in your store. Or 2 you have a bad manager. Because I’ll tell you, there’s no incentive for a manager to not cater or appreciate the people who do the work that is asked.
