so I guess if you lay off the smartest and brightest remote workers who stayed because of that company perk, you end up with the less brightest and spend half the year in change jail because they cause high level outages that result in bad press - I love all the winning

I’m in CTO and have lost at least a dozen good people in my group since last Nov. I’m remote in a hub and losing hope for a layoff myself. My new manager doesn’t care for me, was forced into a sh---y role after a reorg last year, and just struggling to get to Friday each week. Morale in my group is extremely low, apathy at an all-time high. Have the financial padding to simply quit and not look back, but clinging to hope of a big severance payout is hard to let go of.

I was let go Tuesday morning. I am non hub remote, so knew it was coming. I am relieved and have LOVED the last three days. I bought a new bicycle, rode 13 miles yesterday in the sun by the ocean, where I live! Don't miss being stuck behind my desk, working days and nights and weekends. I was close to retirement anyway. Still, after a long career with WF, it does kinda su-ks to know they don't give a cr-p about you.

Is going to an office in a non-hub looked at any differently than being remote worker in a non-hub location

@gyq

Yep. There was a massive "Kerrins up" (aka fu-k up) and a critical customer facing change caused a 10 hour outage. "Heightened Awareness" around necessary changes and a lockdown on non-nessecary changes. This is the traditional response to technical failures in the past caused by poor management that only wants to cut, but doesn't understand how to manage the bank.

How's that outsourcing going for you Schart?

Economy not tanking means layoffs are pushed out to next year

Same situation here (remote and non hub) and I’ve heard the same. Also might be focusing on potential relo people first with remotes non hubs to be last. Hoping we leave under the duress of waiting or do something d-mb to get terminated. Who knows with this place!

Lucky you. I'm full time remote, non hub and so ready to get a confidential meeting! I've heard they may be rethinking the cadence, as in slower. :(
