Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Have You Completed the Ford Voice Survey?

For the past couple of weeks I've been getting emails nearly every other day prompting me to complete the Ford Voice survey. Today my supervisor emails us and says she'd like us to complete the survey. I replied I didn't plan to because it's not anonymous. I learned a long time ago that "anonymous" only applies when they don't want to know who said it, and you can complain all you want, but rest assured that HR is not on your side and management will work within the guidelines to make your life a living he-l. Anyway, she then replied that it was my choice, but that our department would probably get dinged for a lack of participation. 1) If the department gets dinged, it's clearly not an anonymous survey, and 2), it seems all managers are more worried these days is checking the boxes to make themselves look good on paper. It's ridiculous.

I get constant emails about this survey. One from Douggie, one from my director. I don’t plan on taking it because frankly my situation is hopeless in my current position. It will be of no benefit to me to air all this out on a survey which HR reviews. From the Shawshank Redemption “get busy living or get busy dying.” I’m living, Ford is dying a slowly.

We all know what's wrong with our company. A survey is not needed. It won't be solved by committee but by real hard decisions and work. As William Edwards Deming said it is management that is the problem.

I take the survey, don’t care one bit if they know who I am.
It is easy to note that the brainless dive into EV’s is executive management accepting government bribes to build garbage no one wants.

@1lzn+1s6TXYkc - You have IT issues? Dell monitors and docks are normally pretty good!

If the survey is taken on a Ford-owned device, it is NOT anonymous! I repeat...NOT anonymous!

Supervisors need a certain number of responses (believe it’s 5) to get aggregated data at their level. That is what the linking of information is for. Your management will not be getting a document with your responses… but if they have 1 person in the team giving 1’s on issues you have been vocal about… it’s not hard to figure out. Same goes for text responses as everyone has verbal quirks that make it pretty easy to figure out.

Be careful but you don’t have to completely avoid it.

Put it as part of my goals and I will answer said survey.

Currently, until we see the “BONUS AS A PERCENT OF BASE SALARY ‘REDUCED’ BONUS TARGETS” officially lifted above 84%, we cannot afford the energy to take my laser-focused goggles off the goal of improving quality.

By “us” not completing the FORD VOICE SURVEY indicated management’s pure failure - this is a line item on their goals. The EV fiasco doesn’t count against their bonus target, but us (me) completing the survey hits the message home.

Time to retire most of our LL5+ folks, especially where we have duplicate executives - talk about TVM Opportunity, well, it’s knocking loudly!

Lets have the executives answer the survey themselves on where they think their team (workers) are and do a probing comparison to see their reality of what's working, areas for improvement and overall sentiment of the Ford's staff. Let the EXECUTIVES have the courage to tackle this head on with us, like some of the other successful top-100 fortune companies do.

Not taking the survey drives management crazy. Not taking it shows the desperation people are feeling. Not taking the survey actually reflects more insight into the company than your comments, which they don't care about anyway.

Yes and they will not like my answers. I don't care if it is anonymous or not. In fact I hope I get SIRP'd because of it.

For what it's worth, the confidentiality of the survey hasn't changed from what it has always been in the past years. Your personal data has always been associated with the survey. That is how they can tell each supervisor and manager the feedback at their team level and can track what % of an org took the survey, as we saw in past years. The only difference is they decided to state it more clearly at the beginning this year. Your management still won't know what you said personally. They still see the feedback without any names associated with them.

But I won't be surprised if the disclaimer scared away a lot of people from taking the survey this year.

I get this survey over and over and do the same thing.
I put on my headset, click on button and start talking to the voice survey.
Nothing happens.
I think I am insane.

@fle+1s6TXYkc That 360 feedback stuff was like ye ole circular firing squad haha. Tom the cat from Tom & Jerry putting the barrel of a you know what into a hole and it getting bent back toward him...type of thing. Kaboom.

I haven’t taken it in years but they forced us to put it on our objectives this year. It’s not anonymous. Our manager has reached out with a reminder to complete… and I will. Everything will be a 3 and no unique comments. Ask pointless unclear useless questions, get pointless, unclear useless feedback - but I’ll check that box.

I took the survey and answered honestly. If they don't like the answers, they should have never asked. If they really don't like the answers, hopefully, they'll offer me a package.

It's part of the leadership objectives to have an X% of the population fill out the survey.

You need to look out and protect yourself. The survey is not anonymous and your supervisor wants you to take it. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer is my logic with the survey. Take the survey and just put highest ratings and no comments other than, “everything is wonderful.” Let your supervisor know that after she talked to you, you took the survey. Again, your survey is not going to solve the company’s serious problems, so don’t do anything that you will be retailed against for.

It’s 100% NOT anonymous!
I know this first hand. I did a 360 degree feedback survey for my LL5 manager about 10 years ago. I put positive feedback and comments for improvement. About a week after doing the survey my manager pulled me into his office and started yelling at me for “negative feedback”. I denied making any negative survey comments but he yelled “I know it was you!”
Ford can fook their surveys.

I stopped doing survey a long time ago. Why bothering filling out the survey, it is completely waste of time, and nothing will change any way.

This voice survey is the biggest waste of time. We were even given a guide how to take it. For something that results in no changes, they sure are worried about it.

I think you could do the survey and just leave the free text answers blank. Rating things 1-5 is not gonna cause retaliation
