Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Boeing, Stop me if you heard this one!

“There exists a disconnect, for lack of a better word, between the words that are being said by Boeing management and what is being seen and experienced by employees across the company,” said witness Javier de Luis, an aerospace engineer and lecturer at MIT.

Substitute the proper names for the company we all know and the same sentence fits.

I seem to remember it was Honeywell pushing to cut and offshore. Cote told Boeing, the Honeywell board of directors, and the investors circa 2009 that offshoring to Penang would result in spending $0.33 on the dollar as compared to the US. The savings were supposed to be 67%. The real result was Honeywell spent $1.67 on the dollar as compared to the US. It was actually an increase in expense of 67% due to the cost of quality, the language barrier, the cultural barrier, and the Malaysian government not allowing Honeywell to repatriate the alleged profits made from doing business there. The root causes were and are still the pi$$ poor understanding of reality, greed, and hubris by the execs and the board of directors.
