Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What's going on in retail?

What's going on in retail? New markets announced for effective 4/1 but no structural or hierarchy changes yet?

I actually work very hard in retail. I’m in my 11th year and have found that it’s normally the newer, younger, hires that don’t pan out. We actually have 2 full time and 1 part time openings and cannot get anyone in there for either. There are definitely some tenured reps that are lazy. However, we have - full hand of tenured reps 10 years or more in my store and we are all 100% and or more to goal every month. We do it the right way too! We tell management the ethical way to sell. The problem is managment scares these new hires away with their horrible tactics or the new hires just don’t want to work. We have reps in our store that do not want anything to do with managment because it’s a revolving door. The hire ups are unethical and just lousy people. AT&T could have been a completely different work place with the right leadership. We as a company haven’t had that in ARSM on up for nearly 10 years now. Such bad decisions by people being paid way too much money then they are worth. There are way too many middle management positions as well. They can only justify their jobs by treating people horrible and doing false coaching’s and observations. It’s really a bad workplace experience. They don’t care though.

That's funny. All the old timers in my store, smoke the newbies and have a vast array of repeat customers because they understand how to take care of ones customers. The new millennials are too busy on facebook to take care of the customers sitting right in front of them.

The golden palace of Dallas hasn’t done anything for retail! They only sending basic equipment to sell! Cant get iPads for opus to work, light fixtures out, no supplies to clean or work with! Reps are bringing their own cleaning supplies! The list goes on but yet they complain about TMobile kickn butt but yet they blame anyone but themselves

Layoffs are tough in AT&T Retail. The plan is to keep the old timers that drove retail into the ground and layoff the young people who were born in this millennium who are actually in touch with what is going on. The power of the coffee clatch network is far superior to individuals driving positive change.
