The whole company is in chaos. The top management is so disconnected that the best thing they can do right now is to lay off worker bees especially those that can produce sound results.

This is a true statement!

Engineers write bad code because ... ehm of their own incompetence or leadership?

Wildly incompetent software engineers, technical leadership and managerial leadership across MPLS and Cisco. The funny thing is each group points to the others not knowing how incompetent they themselves are. Sadly, none of this is unique to Cisco.

You forgot the main cause: poor engineering.

Engineers write bad code because ... ehm of their own incompetence or leadership? Here in the bubble of this board we all know it is bad leadership.

my company just completed swapping out 37 nexus boxes with arista taking their place. those nexus boxes were sent directly to the metal scrap yard, we didn't even bother to call in the IT recycling company for appraisal.

NXOS development process is not aligned with CPDM, it has no change management process in place, their process is simply naive comparing to IOS XR and IOS XE.
