Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why Intel Ethernet

Why is Intel still hanging onto the losing Ethernet business that is becoming a commodity product you can buy and integrate from any supplier. Intel still have not delivered 200G/400G products, while its competitors have in market for years. There is no 800G in sight to drive AI workload, which the competition will deliver next year. They have an incompetent silicon engineering team that is lead by Indian ladder climbers looking out for their own stepping on everyone to rank up while delivering late with less features. The software leader is also an incompetent Indian who is only building his empire with no SW roadmap. Intel need to cut this business and all the people to redirect budget towards core products.

I thought the silicon engineering teams were in Israel?

No matter, if Intel succeeded in acquiring Mellanox instead of Nvidia, and yes they did try, then Intel Ethernet products would look a whole lot different today. The current batch of losers designing, building, and testing Intel Ethernet products wouldn't even be on the payroll.

Intel Gaudi is an accelerator, but it still needs high bandwidth Ethernet to work in an AI cluster environment. Intel doesn’t have anything more that 100G Ethernet.
