Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Sioux falls SD location

Not sure how many other from sioux falls reads/comments in here... but anyone hear if others (I know some other depth have but not many) are getting laid off before the 2/4 year mark? Everything from managers "its all subject to change." As in before that. I've chit chatted with others in SF and one person thinks nothing until 2 years.. super duper annoying that they don't know in that email can be before that.

We read it, yes. Game of chicken is being played but more likely leadership isn’t that smart and this whole thing is being reactive instead of proactive. Old friend works in Risk and said there’s some key players here that would not be easily/quickly replaced. They have been given zero indication on timing.

For sure isn’t about people and for sure isn’t about efficiency…sh1t gets done in Sioux Falls and people are paid way less for decades now. Going to be a loss of human capital and increase salaries to replace this site. Bad decision making and sad times.

The Sioux Falls leadership team are a bunch of lying douchebags and they all know it!!! They are just fu--ing with us at this point…. Your the best site… you are amazing… let’s show them why Sioux Falls needs to stay…. We walk on eggshells all day long…. The ECMO workload has been handed over to the Philippines and India… they sit with high queues while we struggle for work but then get talked to about not meeting production goals… they are setting us all up and laugh in our faces… bunch of bullsh-t!!!

The multi-year timeline is based on the timing of getting out of the building leases or sale. But there's no reason to NOT start cutting jobs right now. That's why layoffs are happening quickly in Portland and Sioux Falls. In two years there might be one employee left in the building to sweep the floors every few days but that's about it.

Personally I think they give these multiple years projections merely to get more work out of us in the meantime and also hope folks go on thier own merry way as well. . .. my team mates have forgotten a year ago we were told 2 to 4 years, when one was perplexed with offshore now "assisting" us ... had to remind her, we are owned at 1 to 3 year timeliness but could pull the relocation strategy trigger any time regardless. ... it's a cr-p shoot really , sneaky higher ups always playing d-mb is getting really old, we have all caught on to the trickery SMH lol

I have a theory that they give extended timelines (e.g. 2027) to increase attrition. Like if you knew you were being laid off in the next six months, then everyone would stay and collect severance. But a few years of constantly wondering when your time will be up is torture and increases the likelihood that people will just leave rather than wait around.

I work under COO business line in Sioux Falls. My department was told that the Sioux Falls site on N 4th will close sometime between now and the end of 2027. I have a friend that works under COO line but in a different department and she was laid off in April. I know of another lady that is under CSBB and will laid off in the 3rd quarter of this year after being told 2-3 years. Over 100 ppl have been laid off at the Sioux Falls site since the first of the year. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than predicting when we will be laid off.
