Are there any tell tale signs? Or do they outright tell you?
Other hand, how do you know you are safe for now?

"The manager prob knew a week in advance lol. Don’t fall for the “I didn’t know”. They just aren’t allowed to tell you. Wake up ppl. These are not your friends."
This is total BS.
Managers may know in advance, but many do not. And for those that do know they are told explicitly that they cannot share that information in advance. It isn't a question of whether they are your friend or not, giving advance warning could jeopardize THEIR positions. All it takes is one ticked-off employee to go back to HR and let them know that their manager blabbed and now that manager is fired.
Would you risk your job to give an employee an extra 1 week heads up?
Your manager cancels scheduled meetings with you, or declines your invitations.
Hiring people in hubs for teams that do not exist
Trust your gut instinct, that is the best inner sign. Now it is up to you whether you want to panic or stay calm.
Good thing you can identify as anything you want, at any time, eh?
If you’re over 50, and are a straight white male. That’s 4 strikes against you.
Downvote all you want, but it’s true.
Your location is a huge clue. If your site is not a core or specialty location for your LOB then you will most likely be laid off. Also, training your replacement in India is another clue.
The name list has been confirmed 2 months ago. Stop silly guessing.
The layoffs name list has been confirmed 2 months ago. Don’t be silly guessing. Managers won’t tell you nothing.
It depends on the situation. In MANY cases your immediate manager finds out the day before you do, and the only purpose of that is so you can field questions. Otherwise you'd get zero notice just like your employees. I've laid people off before, and that's always how it's been done in my group. The "you can't tell your people" phase lasts less than 24 hours. The company frankly doesn't trust managers to "sit" on information any longer than that.

The sign in front of the building that says “Wells Fargo” is the tell tale sign.
You are only safe if you’ve ever worked for JPM.
My friend who was laid off a few months ago, had no warning signs. He was working normally until his layoff meeting. His manager only knew 2 hours before he was let go..
You're two up sorta stares at you. That is if you ever see him. Mine did after opening the place up after Covid
@mou+1sCb8Oqv Also no I am not in a hub, I have been remote ever since I started with WF and I have not been communicated official details on when I need to definitively RTO or what they plan on doing with my role
@mou+1sCb8Oqv There haven’t been any layoffs on my team. We are very small on the U.S. side. We do have some offshore members, but they do very basic work for our team.
OP-have there been layoffs on your team? Are you in a hub?
Most of all-don’t worry about what you cannot control
If you're an American and not an executive, you'll be laid off. There's your sign.
Stop asking stupid questions.
