Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

In office dashboard

What a dump. in office dashboard is not working this morning. It’s not counting your time off - so it shows you below model.
What a joke, considering all the emphasis being in office and the tracking.

@1rq7 Thank you, I understand. I've been here for a few years now and have an otherwise mostly flawless record, so if HR contacts me I'll just tell them it was an honest mistake.

@1rpt just a warning. I was only a few months in to working here and my manager hadn’t explained the in office policy properly, so I was just given a warning once I explained what had happened.

@1rpe What happened when you made the mistake? Did HR give you a warning?

The model is not 1-1 which is insane. If you are currently 3 days in office you have to take the total number of PTO, Holiday, WFH days and subtract that from 20. So if you have 5 days of PTO, WFH etc: 20-5 x .6 to get 9 days you have to be in office. For those already in 4 days: 20-5 x .8 to get 12 days in office.

I made the same mistake a few reporting periods back expecting 1 wfh day to count as 1 day in office. It truly is absurd!

I've always been above model since 2022, and just a few weeks ago I was officially in the red for using a single WFA day that didn't qualify as a required in office day, which I wasn't aware of. Someone from HR wants to meet with me this week, but they didn't specify if it's in regards to now being below the model. What happens next? Will I just get one warning, or could I correct it with an in-office exception?

Put in a work at home exemption to get you to meets.

I just had a "below model" in my calendar because I used a combination of WFA and vacation time a few weeks ago, and somehow it registered as not meeting my required days. What happens next? Does HR directly reach out to me? I haven't heard anything from my manager.

Finally corrected below model dashboard to on model. It was my miscalculation by just one day. Enormous relief it was. Will not happen again.

If you just came to the office, you wouldn't need to worry!

That's the joke, not the system

1wtr…
It’s about damn time. Why should the slackers who show up for 3 hours and go home get the same credit as those of us who are here 9 hours?!?

If this wasn’t already a more time consuming than reviews soon you will be required to do at least 6 hours in the day for it to count towards your “in office days”.

@qoq

I sent a few messages to HR via a ticket. They seem to answer all replies closer to the end of the day. Just have to go back into the HR portal to see the response.

My boss saw this and told me to go now since I had 3 periods out of compliance. Then I showed him the detailed report that says I am in compliance. Oh for heavens sake, it we cannot get this right how do we get anything right for our clients?

As someone who was laid off several months ago, I simply cannot believe how you guys are being treated with this attendance scare tracking status modeling.

I am half way laughing (not at you, my poor, beaten down brethren) , but mostly horrified. Jeeez.

I never heard anything when I submitted a ticket…
But to another posters point. Wouldn’t you think they would put something on my source to tell everybody there’s a problem… Guessing they don’t want to because it’s too embarrassing for them - they’ll look like bigger id--ts than they already do

Yup! They treat us like evil stepchildren! Prior to Covid we were allowed to WFH 2 days a week. No one cared. No one tracked us. Now it’s terrible. Make a mistake once and you’re yellow including your review for the year. It’s nonsense.

“Make a paper trail..” How many times have I heard this over the years? What kind of sh---y company do we work for that we need to consistently protect ourselves from being wrongly sh-t canned.

In addition to the below, I forgot to mention, it’ll pick up next week as of this week. Just start a ticket with HR and make a paper trail as backup.

You have to input your time off by Thursday to get included in the Monday update. Makes no sense. Anything you put in prior to the refresh should get updated.
