I’m noticing more interns and new hires are the kids of Dir and Sr. Dirs. WTF. Though not in the direct chain of command, how is something this obvious allowed? These “leaders” are buddies with the hiring “Leaders” so that is a great workaround for the supposed rule. So deflating to see this during LR season or anytime.

nepotism especially in sales is soooo bad!! everyone and their mother is working at cisco.
Unfortunately high tech companied have become a third world country representation where the hiring, retaining and promotion decisions are based on relationships, favoritism, race, .. but NOT talent. Silicon Valley high tech companies are destroying themselves from within. The culture in high tech is unhealthy. We need a cultural innovation for high tech companies.
@1rhb+1sDsoYBD - correct, it has happened at every company I worked for.
Biggest nepotism is being a silent shareholder in Fortinets biggest partner and being GM of Cisco for a country
Bro is stacking paper
Very normal. Happens at every company. Go find something else to cry about.
“I know some of their kids are very smart ppl.” Wake up, it’s a joke :-)
Biggest nepotism is giving contracting work to their own relatives working at big contracting Indian companies or smaller ones in USA.
Nope, it is not nepotism but a entrprise mafia. It is know known that all Managers, Sr.Managers and Directors are all connected and hire each other kids and reward. No one will come to know. Not only jobs but even in the college internships starting freshman to finals. each year they make 23-24K securing 100K
This is totally disgusting and filth
we put a lot of these 'favorted' csap'ers into GES sales roles, even global roles and they're nothing but lackeys who don't know how to sell or build relationships. And they wonder why we are losing sales and are numbers are for sh1t
Cisco will soon be a family run business by friends and family, away from Fortune xx. You will see less LRs as everyone is related to others for paycheck.
Dude, welcome to life. This is how people build empires and wealth from time immemorial. With the proliferation of the destruction of the family, it seems weird to people and somehow "unfair", but if the relation is able to do the job competently, then why not? Get going on networking yourself.
Nepotism intern hiring has always happened! They also convince Accenture to hire their kids or friends for Cisco contracts.
grow up - there isn't anything wrong with them taking part in the same program available to everyone else.
I know some of their kids are very smart ppl.
