Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Real problem at intel

Employees are the backbone of company. Number one issue is low compensation package question top voted in ACM and many Other GGS. When ELT ignores, don’t expect much from intel

Well, get that stock price up, and maybe we'll pay you more. Maybe.

I do agree with you that employees are the backbone of company. So did the original founders of Intel. Sorry to be so harsh but things have changed. Do you really think leadership with average total compensation over 1,711-times larger than the average Intel employe give a flying Fu-k about employe moral?

It depends. Intel actually pays many employees too much. Many VPs. Fellows, PEs, managers, new hires from AMD and Nvidia. and, to be fair , lower rank employees are not worth their compensation. Intel should cut 30%, from the top, and promote the best of the best, raising their pay by 20%.

@cdf no.. that's not what the post says. It says to "attract" good people you need to pay them at or above the market rate. Intel, as we all know, is well below the market rate - especially considering RSUs which is a large part of comp for more senior employees.

@zhu so paying the mediocre people who are left more money will attract good people? Good people have more choices on where to work. Money isn’t the only motivation. People want rewarding and challenging careers. Intel can’t provide that. Intel is hopelessly playing catch in every facet of the business. The rest of the industry knows that Intel is a horrible place to work for a lot of reasons.

@slz doesn’t realize that the good people have already left.

In order to attract good people, you need to pay them appropriately. It basic logic.

Nope. The problem is you think a company should be breaking the bank for your poor mediocre performance.

If it’s so bad why have you stayed ?
