Who are the board of directors? Who can fire them?
It's the old relics who are stuck in the 90's known as the BoD that need to be shown the door.
there are break up specialists (ed breen - ceo of dupont) that know how to find value in the parts of companies, break them up and then allow those parts to compete inflourish (hopefully). unfortunately, the board/pat are either too d-mb or too scared to realize the glory days are over and are simply pi----g away shareholder money on a fools errand. i suspect its a bit of both. the future of intel doesn't need to be the past glory, it can prosper in a different form with the right leadership (and pat is 180 degrees from that as the last 3.3 yrs have demonstrated).
Face it, the Board's got no choice: it's either Pat or close shop. No one wants to spend their time trying to fish this tu-d out of the cesspool it's got itself into.
