Who made the most $$$ + most damage in the last 10 years?

Someone who made a lot of $$$$ at the company's expense and solely looked out for him/herself instead of doing the right thing for the company.

In order of who did the most damage:

  1. Andy Bryant
  2. BK
  3. Murthy
  4. Raja
  5. Please add more.

#1 BK
#2 Bryant for hiring BK and not firing him sooner
#3 Swan for being the wwrong person for the job in a tech compnay

First two are accurate... but Swan is definitely a solid #3. He essentially put Intel on pause for about a year "searching" for a leader... which turned out to be himself. And when he did get the top job, he just kept the seat warm for another year till Pat was hired. That's essentially two years where Intel was rudderless due to AB and Swan counting beans vs cutting costs.

Sandra and Michelle built their empire on D&I and destroyed dcg, ccg, and smg in the process. It turns out that hard working, dedicated employees are demotivated when they see less skilled cronies advance for dubious reasons. As several mentioned, this was all driven by BKs incompetence in placing them in these positions in the first place. So sad to see what's happened to this company.

What should Intel be doing next?

@2fyz Sadly there's no way to "clawback" the money spent and wasted on incompetent ELT members. Maybe going forward the BoD should adopt a clawback provision in the executive compensation plans, but I doubt that will happen since zero accountability is how INTC has been operating for the past decade or two.

SR, you know it's bad when diversity takes over technical talent and she's the epitome of it.

So many others who mooched off the company - Josh Walden, Daaman, Amir Faintuch. So many more.

Christoph who turned the “sales” org on its head, created massive amounts of unnecessary work and completely missed the mark on what a “sales” org should be doing.

Navin Shenoy was so useless. Used to make slides for PSO and manage his calendar. Became EVP at age 45. Utterly d-mb but a smooth talker. Pat fired him in week 1 - and he walked away with hundred million cumulative

Pat. Got $180M in 2021. Stock is down $30. Talks and talks and talks. Gives insane stupid Money to HP rejects. Has done absolutely nothing to improve the areas that needed improvement when he arrived. I know the olds love him, but he has been a disaster.

Andy Bryant. Inserted BK at the top. Knowing he had the personality and people skilled of a bag of phlegm. Did nothing about his stupid starfking BS. Did nothing about his insane drones/bowls/shirts BS. Did nothing when it came out he was ba----g his TA and promoted her to VP. For a guy you thought bled blue he was such a complete loser as Chairman.

Navin Shenoy. Rode the coattails of being PSO TA. Did nothing of value in any role and was handed the most critical BU with zero competence. And unsurprisingly effed it up completely. Setting us back more than a decade at best and frankly ki-ling Intel as NVDA and AMD blew us away.

Christoph. This effing guy is hands down the most incompetent member of ELT I’ve seen in 30 years. Gets a $20M signing bonus for what? Proceeds to “manage” the sales group to 30% lower revenues from the year he joined to today. No self awareness and is clearly at Intel simply to grift money, frequent flyer miles, and cruises to get drunk on.

Raja. What Navin did to DC, Raja did to graphics. Just an absolute fkn id--t. But hey he made T Shirts.

I bet you HBS is busy putting together a juicy business case out of this stunning example of an iconic American company collapse.

Someone should come up with a list of people with their photo ID that are responsible for the failure of Intel in history book and future school of engineering.

The $8B Renee J blew on the McAfee acquisition equals the amount Pat has now had to panhandle from the Feds.
