Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Move timeframes

If one is told they have to move to Dallas or Atlanta… what is the normal time given to move in months?

If you say no, how much time until you’re off the payroll?

Probably every org is different but is there a general guideline?

Haven’t heard of anyone being told to move to Atlanta. Heard of plenty having to move to Dallas even folks in Atlanta told to move to Dallas. They aren’t hiring in Atlanta

I was notified on 3/1 that I will have to move to my new designated city to keep my job. My director told me I will not be surplussed until after June. So. . Still here for now. Maybe they will fire me sometime in July.

I was in the first group to leave. I found out where I had to move at end of July ‘23. I had until Dec 31 to move. had 2 weeks to reply. I was given my term letter Sep 22nd and Oct 6th was my last day.

“Hurry up and move down there so you can be laid off in the next sweep there.”
Stop posting this nonsense right now. This hasn’t happened.

The letters I have seen give a 6 month window until you are off the books and 7 months to show up in the designated hub city. One caveat, the wording of the letter says that the "off the books date" could change.

Nobody knows, it varies and even changes from what you may have been told I initially.
