Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Geo tracking location

Big brother is watching using AI to correlate presence reporting. All those badge swipers will soon be in hot water for not reporting to the correct facility. The cell phones you receive discounts on are being watched for geo location to make sure you are at work.

Just another way to keep all of us inline this company is turning into George Orwell’s truth.

They are not tracking your personal phones. What they are tracking is your company computer and when it is logged into the LAN. It must be logged in 3 times a week for 8 hours.

6/1 there is a trial for the new gps location butt plug so bend over further and be prepared. They think they own everyone including at home with all the social media and DEI policies. Sorry, this is still the US and I have freedom of speech so kiss my assets, I will never comply to your narcissism.

The problem here is too many of you believe that AT&T is ethical.

Loyalty is a two way street, Stankey has no loyalty to me, I have no loyalty to the company.

It’s 2024 - company loyalty died decades ago, get with the times. It’s you out for yourself vs everyone else - not ‘my company vs your company’ you’re a free agent, act like it. Get your bag.

“Very convenient excuse because any carriers network can experience an outage! As employees, we all need to support what's in our best interest and that's to support our company and help drive revenues to their maximum potential. The competition is your enemy and T employees should be embarrassed to be subscribers to the competition!”

Yeah, but T su-ks.
Stankey su-ks.
I’m only a customer because I’m getting a discount, as soon as they lay me off I’m switching to T-Mobile.

Like I said in a different thread, T is the McDonald’s of tech - I’m here for a paycheck nothing else nothing more.
I used to be ‘gung-ho’ and believe in the cause, and then they started this forced relocation RTO bs.

Lost all my loyalty, now I’m maliciously compliant.

How can you say this? Some of us have children or parents we check on and AT&T outages are always occurring. We shouldn’t be fired for selecting another provider with better network reliability. Did you catch yet another outage on Memorial Day? People are still cleaning up the mess from the outage in February.
Again, we should be fired for free choice of a network provider that WE pay for!!

Too funny. This company can’t even create programs to assist in tracking down outage issues so they can be fixed.
I doubt they are spending any real efforts in tracking employees. They may say they are doing it, but doubt they have the true capability.

Re:
This is nonsense.
It would be an invasion of privacy to track private lines…and incredibly >illegal…

It’s not illegal. Read the small print when you were hired. It’s their phone if it’s a COU and they can track anything they want.

Sorry to break the sad news but it’s true if it’s a company provided phone you have.

Easy. Go to work, badge in, turn on airplane mode, go home.

Checkmate.

Not to mention the fact that we often cannot make sense or collect regular business data. All we need is to do something illegal to spy on some losers that should have been let go long ago.

You wouldn’t believe the amount of vile garbage, falsehoods, conspiracy theories, and plain untruths you see around this board. Sometimes I read about something that I have worked with or know cold, and I go WTF did I just read:) Great entertainment.

My government or other entities would never do anything illegal or harmful, because they can be sued, it's as simple as that. I trust them to the point where I let them inject me with whatever they think is good for me.

Actually I hope they do, so I can sue them and retire.

If they’re referencing COU’s, then as others have stated, just leave them at the office.

Also, you can just badge swipe at the correct facility? I’ve been badge swiping at the correct facilities and no one has said anything to me in over a year.

It’s illegal to track the location of a private individuals line without a warrant/court order - ‘tracking the lines we get discounts for’ are still private lines, just because there’s a discount doesn’t suddenly make it property of ATT.

Maybe they can track Windows machines via vpn - but I have yet to hear any news about upgrading tracking on the Windows side.

Mac side, from my understanding and personal research of their deployed software via JAMF - still doesn’t track.

Which of the 12 phones in my name are they tracking? I can just leave it in the drawer at work.
