Who said anything about fair? If you aren't in an eligible group and did not receive notice of such, then you can't volunteer. Needs of the business, you know? /s

What if the cap wasn’t offered to you. Can you still volunteer and how is it fair if you can’t?

I saw an ad for this webinar done by a financial firm that is going to talk about it. Here is the link if anyone is interested: https://quotientwealth.zoom.us/webinar/register/6817187237597/WN_il8HFS2JQfqZWnkjhDslUw

All of Accounting has been offered, Analysts all the way up. Positions will not be backfilled.

This is true. If you take an enhanced severance package you cannot be rehired. The only way back in is to either work for a company that is acquired by Vz or as a contractor (after 6 months).

Yeah I got an email and thinking about doing it. Hey, their paperwork says you can never work at Verizon again if you take the VSP. Kinda worried about that part though. Looks like this is for the GTS side of Verizon. Does anyone know for sure?

"Management" is just HR-speak for anyone who isn't OT-eligible. You don't literally need to have direct reports under you.

That said, it looks like they're a lot more narrowly targeting who they extend the offers to this time around. I received an offer in 2018, but not today. Nobody in my org received an offer, as far as I know at this time.

If this roles out to management, is it going to trickle down for reps ?

It's happening for sure. Emails are out and if you go to this link you see your personal package offer. https://aboutyou.verizon.com/voluntary
If you didn't get an email yet still check that link, it will tell you if you're eligible.

About You is not a dead site. It's been renamed Inside Verizon. If you did not get an email from Sam stating you are eligible, with a link to the microsite, you are not eligible.

I'm pretty sure "about you" is a dead site after the move to Workday. Is anyone getting anything other than "not eligible" there? I was eligible for the last VSP, but not this one? Doesn't make sense.

The page aeems to say anyone qualifies but the list of titles/groups seems to say different.

I’m not saying the page is wrong or the email was wrong but I’m not getting my hopes up yet since they are currently crushed after seeing the title list. Even if I was eligible they could still say no because they don’t want to lose the headcount.

60 week cap, 3 weeks per year service. Most people off 9/13 but some year end and even 1Q'25 for certain roles.

Heard some exclusions such as customer facing WLS and misson critical groups but nothing explicit.

STI at 100% (prorated to 75% if off 9/13) and Stock Together at 100%. (Unclear if only on vested portion or total)

I heard of a 6/4/2024 VSP announcement

Unemployment is a state issue. Some states are very generous (NJ), others arent (NY). Generally the state law that applies is where you live, not where you work - but check. Everyone should apply. I have heard Verizon takes no position, and leaves it up to the state to make their determination of eligibility (but have no firsthand knowledge).

Enhanced separation packages vs voluntary separation package. They probably made out better since they were unemployment eligible.

Last time we had folks RIFed and a few weeks later the ESP was announced. The RIFed folks (who were gone by then) were given the ESP package, including insurance, which was very valuable to some. Of course that doesn't predict the future.

It’s June. The 2018 VSP notice came from Hans with the subject line “VTeam update”. Watch your emails.

Thank you for the update. This is what this site is for, conversation around layoffs (and OK RTO) not the stupid stuff some people post. Looking forward to this announcement after enjoying the weekend.

The RIF happened to get folks off the books by the end of 2Q. The VSP will get folks off by Sep, Dec, Mar. If you volunteer your mgmt decides when to let you go. I keep hearing this VSP rumor so will believe it when I see it. Verizon is looking to shake things up and streamline the company so this might be it. Also, expect some announcements next week.

Right now, the plan is still to announce on June 4. Who is going to get it is kept to a very small set of specialized HR people.

They wouldn’t have riffs one day and offer a VSP the next unless the VSP is for a very small subset of specialized employees.

I can't wait to push the button on June 4. I was not accepted in 2003 or 2018. I hope third time is the charm.

Just because there was 15 years between the 1st and 2nd VSP doesn’t mean the 3rd one has to be 15 years, there no set schedule for VSPs.

VSPs were in 2003 and 2018. Next VSP scheduled for 2033.
