WFH: No Excuses!!!

isn't that the truth about working from home and getting in trouble if we show up to the office because we have to. it's supposed to be mandatory 3 days a week in the office but some people aren't even doing 3 days a month. even on short weeks (weeks with a holiday or vacation day), we still have to do 3 days in the office but others, including managers, are only doing 2. and it's the same managers telling us 3 times a week, no excuses.

Productivity cratered during covid because we had Todd's "steady hand" that kept canceling our implementations so we kept re-doing the schedules over and over again. Then he fired 10% of my co-workers during peak covid deaths and we were just left putting out fires instead of planning our work schedules.

I'm on an "Agile Flex" Team. 20 days in-office per rolling quarter. I think this is the "sweet spot" for the hybrid model. Hope it lasts. It works great for me.

If work from home was so successful then why did productivity crater through two years of COVID?

Management would be crazy to allow that again. We had a chance to prove ourselves to be adults and we utterly failed. Not all of us, but I’ve seen the stats and it was most employees.

I get more done WFH instead of wasting 4 hours a day commuting just to have to be bothered by protestors every Thursday.

@1ddk, perhaps you need to update your skills so you're more valuable. If you don't like it princess, go work elsewhere.

@bgn+1sNCrOU1 - based on your comment I'm going to say your one of the mo--ns not doing it . And its everyone’s business because why do you get a pass and nobody else does? Don’t like the rule princess, go work elsewhere. Bet your performance is awesome too. Probably one who doesn't pull their weight and calls out all the time too

The same garbage was happening at my location which wasn't fair to those doing it as instructed and the end result because of it… our building was one they chose to close. How fair to everyone else because of the ones intentionally not doing it or mgrs pulling cr-p too

If the rules are not acceptable why are you in this toxic environment?

Can you change it ?
Are you going to launch a union and fight for your interpretation of the rules?
Are you rallying up folks to send a memo to the CEO? A signature campaign?

The answer is NO.
No one is forcing the employees to stay with BNYM. If they have the skill set, they find another job while still marketable and leave.

This will get down voted. But foks are staying here and whining because it is the comfort factor or their tolerance level. They are very concerned about the Bank and its progress / viability / growth is a lame excuse.

This is a BIG BANK and Feds won't let it fail. And it has survived 240 years with or without the complaining employees. And it will survive.

If one is savvy / scheming get the required documentation and go 100% WFH and enjoy the drinks in the lawn. And working the system is "another" skill set.

The people working from home all the time , because they get a doctor's note don’t have to deal with this stupid tracking they are not paying for gas or oil changes or almost getting ki-led on the highway or loosing 2hours out of their day

Not sure where you’ve been, but it’s 60% of a 4 week (20 day) period. If there is a holiday like this period, it’s 60% of 19 available days. You could go in the first 2.5 weeks and stay home the last 1.5 weeks or do it more evenly and go in 3 times a week. Doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you hit 60%. If they aren’t doing the right percentage, they would need special permission or else they aren’t meeting requirements and will be let go. So unless you are their manager, I don’t think it’s your business. But I do agree that people who WFH are just as productive. It would be very noticeable otherwise with the group’s overall performance with meeting SLAs.

This is BS and changes nothing.

WFH is legit and those folks are as productive as anyone else.
