Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I think our stock did alot better when everyone went to work daily

Now everyone thinks working from home is so good for the company. The stock price is going up as folks come back to work. That is so strange!

The stock did a lot better when the executives did not make Business 101 mistakes. Unfortunately, the same executives are still in place.

This post proves there are a lot of low IQ people still working at AT&T.
The reason the stock price is stagnant or in decline is because the company is led by executives who think like this OP. This is exactly how shallow or non-existent their vision, strategic and analytical skills are.

Don’t forget the third rail of complicity, Stanky was right their with them ruining DTV and Time Warner.

RTO was another AT&T management lie to terminate thousands of employees. If you don’t already know this remember AT&T management lie ALWAYS to its employees. It’s Toxic Management from legacy SBC that destroyed billions in investment and market cap that generations of employees created. All pi---d away thanks to Fast Eddie and his d-mb a-s son in law Randy. Pathetic and disgusting!

I don’t mind going into the office at all. The part about RTO where I have to sell my house and move to a new state is the part that is pretty demoralizing. All you whiners in hub areas that have to go into the office- get over yourselves. Your RTO situation is not my RTO situation. I’ll think about you when I negotiate a higher wage with a job I’m happier with after I collect my severance. If you hate going into the office and you live in a hub area, then I’m already laughing at the garbage Stankey’s Att is left with in their genius culture scheme. lol.

On June 15, 2016 the stock was at $32.37. Eight years ago. At that time we had office workers, flex office workers, and virtual workers. Most of us were deemed flex office workers right up to 2020 when the company and the country went into lock down. During my entire tenure at AT&T, which started in the 90s, flex office work meant coming into the office 1-5 days a week at the discretion of your supervisor. Before broadband, we all came in 4-5 days a week. In the 2000s, when we were more and more able to do our work from home, we commuted in 3-4 days a week. By 2010, it was 1-2 days a week. Those in support positions were not required to come into an office but if they did so, it could be a local CO or network center near where they lived.

All this happened when the stock was 43% higher than it is today EIGHT YEARS LATER. So, either relaxing the RTO policy will have a better effect on the stock, using your logic, or RTO has no impact on stock performance. I might argue that RTO actually DOES have an impact on stock performance: everyone is so demoralized and hates coming in to this toxic-filled work environment that no one is doing 100% anymore because very few are happy at this company any more.

RTO for other Fortune 500 companies increases our business wireline sales so yes RTO could help the bottom line. Office workers need high speed connections at home and work. WFH cost us a lot in business wireline disconnects.

I think the stock did a lot better when Senior Management didn’t run the company into the ground. By buying DTV and Warner and pretending they knew something about entertainment.

$100 billion in debt is ki-ling AT&T. It’s not sellable or manageable so bankruptcy is the only path forward. Thanks to Snake Oil Ed and his d-mb a-s son in law RJS. No two bigger corporate id--ts. Disgraceful. The AT&T Board members should all be each PERSONALLY sued to recover the loss THEY oversaw and approved.

OP, you're the biggest Ki$$ A$$ to ever post on this site! That has absolutely nothing to do with the pathetic .75 cents increase in T stock for the year! Every other fortune 100 company stock has rebounded back to where it was pre-Covid except for T! It's still in the toilet! That is so strange!

We sell ice cream at the beach. Internet and Mobile connectivity is an essential to people, businesses and governments. You can’t mess up making money. And yet, AT&T leaders can’t help but keep us stagnant. Connecting changes everything… except how bad you are at running a money maker.

Seeing some mentions about the debt. The ”Debt List” is showing total debt at $132,764,551,689; current and long-term in separate columns.

“Of course, yesterday bump in T stock price is due to the report that Warren Buffet bought a few shares. I.e., Warren believes AT&T share price is a good value. Me likey Warren!”

This.
No investor is saying ‘oh RTO I’m gonna buy’ T is at such a low P/E ratio that Warren took notice and is probably assuming that it will go up through natural market forces since it’s so beaten down.
Investors don’t care how you’re making money as long as you’re making money, NVDA is full remote and look at their stock.

This has nothing to do with RTO and everything to do with market dynamics.

I’m definitely fading the rally and selling T into it.

On the AT&T Inc. (T) Yahoo Finance page, select Chart; Date Range=Max, Interval=1W, and Line. Click on the chart to move left or right, and scroll to zoom in or out. The most significant downward trend line started on 6/26/2016, when the stock was $32.83. The ”lower high”, $32.27 on 12/18/2016, appears to confirm the downward trend.

100% of people who died of cancer drank water. Did drinking water cause cancer? No, nor did RTO CAUSE stock price increase

by

Post ID: @tvq+1sO7Qfqf

Yeah, that’s not how that works. The stock price has be hovering the same ranges for a long time with the trend line being down. To truly increase you need to see a new product launch that makes money or do a ton of buybacks. Cutting is not a sign of long term strength, quite the opposite and that is what Wall St sees. We’ve cut over 100k people in the past few years, that is not growth.

T hasn't has a stock buy back since March. It's the RTO and holding people accountable that is fueling Stankeys relentless rally.

Nice try dude (or dudette).

I started sneezing a lot since last July - could that have helped too?

I think we would have had the same steady improvements over time if we all didn’t RTO. Just more time to let the high level strategy/focus to take hold and more time to pay down the ridiculous amount debt. Nothing magical about RTO. Just hope the big brains don’t mess it up.
