Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What is the likelihood of approval vs. denial for bands 8?

Don't’ want to get my hopes up to only be denied, which seems to be the Verizon way.

Band is irrelevant... Your leadership will decide at the end of the day. If too many people leave and/or they don't want to loose a valued/skilled resource that is not easily replaced, you will get denied. HR is meaningless these days for many things, and this is just one of them. Since this is voluntary - they can deny without even providing justification.

Give you an incentive to stay? HR has been trained for decades never to provide incentives to stay, if someone wants to leave, you let them go. If you are critical, you will be told you can't go (unless you leave without taking the package). But incentive to stay??? Not a chance in he-l.

No band8s will be denied. If you were critical you wouldn’t be a band8 - no offense - just answering the Q

If they do deny you, will they just say sorry you’re sc--wed? Or give you an incentive to stay? Like increased benefits of some kind.

What is this based on?

Approval rate for any band is about 99.9%. Unless you are in a critical role not easily replaced or your whole team volunteers, you won't be denied.
