Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What Groups didn’t get the notice??

Anyone not get an email from Sam? I would have thought they would send a not eligible email instead of leaving people hanging.

@mru+1sR90u9U This is the technician who was crying about garage from home. They are anti union.

The blatantly anti union remarks are crazy on here, and they're all out of place and irrelevant to the conversation half the time. I really hope this is just crazy people posting and not people paid by Verizon to lurk message boards like this one and trying to bias people...

Because talk about wasting money.

EISP coming later this year so take it easy on the Union people that didn’t do anything to you aside from living rent free in a corner of your brain.

What are the terms? 3 weeks pay based on salary plus 100% bonus for every year of service capped at 45 weeks? 100% STI prorated to the day you roll off? Does that include medical and dental up to 45 weeks? Also paying you for any accrued vac and personal days? When is last day?

How's my pension doing? I don't need a monthly pension welfare check from the Swedish Meatball, I have over $2 million in my 401k alone plus another $250K in a ROTH IRA. Ready to retire at 58! The VSP will just make it all that much sweeter!

I heard most sales roles are excluded, at least under Business.

I don't know why there is such an antagonistic attitude between bargained-for and management either. I have been both. Two things to keep in mind. 1) Many mgt employees still get a pension when they leave. It may have been frozen years ago, but my lump sum was a pretty nice chunk of change when I left. 2) All non-bargained employees who are not sales incented get a bonus. 3) There will eventually be a surplus declared for associates as well. It's just a matter of time. Verizon is an equal opportunity terminator.

And how is your pension doing? That’s right you don’t have one. VZ demoted some Mgrs to Supers so they lost their bonuses as well. Watch out you may be outsource next. I just don’t understand all the hate toward union as some were sold off and had no choice except find another position in VZ or leave company. Yea VZ has your back!

The next year or two we will see how strong the union has a hold of Verizon. Everyone refusing to RTO yet still wanna get paid the same.Thats gonna change. Outsourcing has been out of control. A strike will not affect Verizon like in years past. I might be wrong but I’m sure management isn’t committing to WFH or RTO cause theses are perfect conditions to handle a strike. Employees won’t get off there lazy a-s’s to get to work, what makes you think there get off there a-s’s for picket line.
