Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

“Open Mic” NJ - Jeremy Legg

Just make sure to bring up the stupid RTO strategy in every town hall with Stankey and his directs, especially Legg. It makes him sweat, it is funny watching him give BS reasons like culture fit and collaboration as key drivers of this strategy. Who hired him?

These id--ts are not welcome in New Jersey. We don't want you coming here sniffing around, just go away. It's hard to believe that you somehow believe any T employee wants you to come here, we don't like you, plan and simple. Save the company money, you are wasting valuable company resources, just stay in Dallas where you belong.

"RTO is partly due to the government telling CEO’s that they will lose tax credits. All the other stuff is just buzz words."

Rightfully so. If our municipalities are giving tax breaks to corps they better see some individual tax income and economic activity in return.

If you cry a little more about working from the office maybe they will bring back work from home.

I hope Stankey, Legg, and McElfresh all get swirlies in the men's room while nosing around in New Jersey!

“You know the question won't get asked.
You know there are no metrics to measure.
You know there is no improvement in efficiency, etc.

Why continue to drive yourself nuts with this?

THEY. DO. NOT. CARE.”

I think that’s the point of continually asking it though. To keep emphasizing just how mo--nic the whole thing is. To them (even though, you’re right, they don’t care), to the audience, to the whole company, to the average Joe reading about it in a news article. RTO has had a profoundly negative impact on my work life balance due to my commute and I don’t think we should ever stop trying to make them look and feel like mo--ns.

Non union people are not in the office they’re supposed to be at or are not in an office at all. Even those that follow the rules are only in the office 3 days per week. Go to any on hub city and tour unannounced. Headcount is about 10% of webphone counts per address.

Jeremy,
We liked you better when you were speaking to us from the closet under your staircase during Covid. Remember?
Anyway, under your watch we’ve had network outages and cybersecurity breaches. We are still waiting for the cool new products your new hires were going to build. What happened?

I know you're just trying to make a point....

but you've got to stop with the "...Can you elaborate on what the outcome has been? Specifically any metrics that show an improvement in efficiency of products/projects launched and/or improved cost savings or profits increased as a result?"

You know the question won't get asked.
You know there are no metrics to measure.
You know there is no improvement in efficiency, etc.

Why continue to drive yourself nuts with this?

THEY. DO. NOT. CARE.

Rinse, repeat.

I really don’t care about RTO. AT&T is supposedly a telecommunications company, but we don’t believe it works. Why would anybody buy from us when we don’t believe it?

Legg will probably try to do a Springsteen impersonation.

Too bad the song won't be "Glory Days"

Good question to ask:
We are coming up on 1 year since RTO. Can you elaborate on what the outcome has been? Specifically any metrics that show an improvement in efficiency of products/projects launched and/or improved cost savings or profits increased as a result?

When they start side stepping and mentioning culture, ask about the survey results that have not been released.

I have been told by a person directly in the know that the RTO was only because on 1 person. JS mandated it. No one got asked, no study done, nothing. he just said I want everyone back in the office. No one agreed with it, but at the high levels they aren’t going to say no to the boss.

The thing that would make them very uncomfortable, is to just sit there. Don't clap, cheer, don't smile. don't do anything through the whole thing. Silence.
