Worth checking your Anthem medical card to see if it was changed to "Healthkeepers POS Network"from PPO Open Choice (Bottom right hand of your card) . It appears Verizon and Anthem moved VIRGINIA management employees (retirees & active employees) to a new provider network. This was done with NO notification to employees or retirees. In some cases, previously covered providers and services are no longer covered. The percentage of coverage for some routine services (lab work) has changed. The policies have changed. Neither Verizon nor Anthem can explain the change or provide a Summary Plan Description outlining the new plan/coverage. Nothing on VZ Benefit Connection. Despite multiple tickets escalating the issue- Both point fingers at the other stating they did not make a change. To make matters worse, Healthkeepers is a rebranding from Anthem and many providers still associate it with Medicaid. Mass market confusion. Open a ticket with Verizon if you see the change and were not aware.

If anyone else from VA can confirm, did you have the 90/10 EPN (which also says PPO on card) or the 80/20 PPO?
This is news to me. The only ANNOUNCED change was moving some states’ management employees off Anthem and onto UHC.
I wonder what else they snuck in there. Can confirm my “printed in error” Anthem card printed 12/05/2023 (state that was moving to UHC in 2024) retains the PPO logo in the bottom corner.

Guess I'm glad I'm not in VIRGINIA. You have to wonder what's driving this, if indeed it's true.
VZ Virginia Management Employees beware: This is true. VZ changed provider networks to (HealthKeepers POS) on January 1, 2024 with impacts to you. One impact e.g.: Labs - % of coverage for routine services (lab work) has changed and if you don’t use Labcorp you will receive a $1,200+ bill. If your Anthem card shows ‘HealthKeepers POS’, check to see if your doctors and services are still covered…FRUSTRATING!
