Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Outta Here

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone. I am taking the offer after 23 years and 61 Years old. It will be a change but fior me it is a well earned change. This decision is a personal decision to make and everyones situation is different. I will be fine i know that. So for anybody staying or leaving, Good luck and best wishes.

For me , this kind of offer will not happen again. See ya, and stay strong.

Our small group was told that if half of our group doesn't take vsp the rest of us could be laid off w/standard package after vsp closes if they can't find more roles to put the 'over half' people in. this additinal pressure is freaking me out. Idk what to do.

Left the company a year ago and couldn’t be happier. You know what you won’t find on my new company’s homepage? DEI. So long su-kers!

Make sure you update your career profile page that you’ll relocate and all that other info in there. They probably won’t use it to look for internal employees but you never know. You can update your resume at the same time to make sure you aren’t caught off guard. .

I know I still have a few more years to work. However, I am willing to relocate to anywhere there may be decent work with a reasonable pay to finish out my work career. With my relocation ability im not tied down to where i am located. This hopefully will open my chances of getting another job for a few more years.

@2wxf+1sXhhL8k there were 2 people in their 80s...one was 80 and the other 83, hope they can finally retire. Plenty in their mid to late 70s

It's some really tempting numbers if you have 20+ years, but unless you are near retirement it should warrant some real pondering. The job market is terrible, insurance is crazy high and the taxes they will take most of it away, and the end of the yr tax man will take even more, especially if they get you off book
in 2024. I am hearing not many are taking it, there are even a few 80yr olds that I still can't believe they work at VZ.

I’m glad I took a few days off before I went into workday and submitted my resignation. The early rumor on this board was also helpful since I figured I’d wait to find out.

Nice little retention payment I accidently fell into.

The VSP is exciting, I am taking VSP or pushing the button. I have 35 yrs tenure and just turned 61.

Very, very few people will be rejected. If you really want to go, push the button. Worse case they may extend you to the March date in order to backfill.

Thank you for your years of service. Take the offer and don’t look back. I would take the offer but I’m sure it will get rejected.

We were told that two weeks prior to the announcement that our engineering group was planning RIFS. At the beginning of the year we were told no RIFS for all of 2024 and after the first quarter of 2025. The leadership is clueless and are not good people

Good luck to all of you. Hopefully all of the younger are walking into a new opportunity, and the more senior are getting a funded early retirement.

Cool, so you're taking the EISP offer that hasn't even been presented yet.
