Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I was happier last week

Before this insulting fake “heartfelt” thanks. It’s way more honest just to tell me I’m mediocre, offshore my job or worse, have me research AI, create a deck for execs and then eliminate my own job with said strategy I created. That’s really the kind of appreciation that’s happening here. Our executives are dark triad overlords who are here only for their own power trip and gravy train. No one really seems to care about the long term health of this company. I was happier last week when they made it clear I don’t matter to them. This week is just purely insulting and belittling. F this place.

If only they did pay me to work. If only. The reality is that they don't. I used to get paid to work. Now I get paid to drive around for no reason, I spend countless hours checking BS useless boxes, taking DIE indoctrination because our CEO is a racist, and on and on it goes. I would LOVE to just work, but they won't let me.

FHY for what those self serving liars have done.

What effort would that be? A one paragraph email from Ellen K. that says thank you for your hard work and contributions, with the same generic messaging that they like to send periodically, including in the email where they gave us locations for the location strategy, and remained upbeat about all of this collaboration?

I can't say that felt heartfelt to me. To me, it felt empty. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt though, and say she truly meant it from the bottom of my heart. She values my work, and is grateful I am part of the team (when she doesn't even know who I am). I am so valued that poor performers who are in core locations will keep their jobs, whereas high performers won't.

This whole week stemmed from low scores on the survey where employees didn't feel valued. It's just pretend to try to boost a score.

True we aren't indentured servants. Saying "at least they are making a little effort" is ridiculous. Very easy to throw a billboarded message out, status quo corporate b.s.

It won't be until the dust settles (2027+) that maybe things will change (but we've been hearing that each and every year for 20+ years).

The company is not making an effort to improve anything, they are too busy tearing things apart.

leadership is dammed if they do dammed of there don't. If you aren't happy then go find another paycheck elsewhere. Heartfelt or not, at least they are making a little effort. At the end of the day they pay you to work and nothing else.

Well said. I’m in the same position as you, waiting for my exit interview. They don’t need to love me, and it’s insulting to be forced to listen while they pretend to do so.
