100% true - Layoffs today.

Just got our emails from the new CEO Steven Moskowitz and then from Karen Rohrkemper. We will be notified by the end of business today if we're laid off or not !!! It's happening as we speak.

Learn math it will help. Look at org charts and count heads. Numbers are not close to what is stated here. That many people were not let go.

There were about 1,500 employees affected by the August 2023 layoffs, reducing the headcount from ~5,000 to 3,500. Which they called “15% of the tower organization”, but really it was 30% of the company. With another 1,500 employees being let go, the total headcount reduction is actually 40%, not 10%. How are they able to report a 10% reduction in overall headcount?

I&O meeting at 2 and they asked to submit questions.

They won’t approve my question about the 1500 people question…..

They don’t want to answer truthfully

Can you please provide the actual number of layoffs including VWA's? Roughly 1500 is what is going around, which is well over the 10% stated. There's news reporting this as well as other sources internally. Thank you

At what point does Crown get rid of sales and sales directors on the tower side? They are not needed - it’s a tower - the carriers either need it or they don’t! A PM can take that order

That's factually incorrect. Not sure where you got that number from.

The south region had over a 1000 FTE between network and towers. Losing 97 isn't a big number. VWAs never counted towards out employee population.

97 FTE's and 64 Contractors let go total in South region I & O per our slide deck. I can't imagine 1500 is accurate I think it feels like more. But I could be very wrong. Isnt there a website that they have to notify about layoffs?

@2bvn+1sYu41Le Sorry to hear you were let go but thanks for sharing this info. Were the labels just for fte’s or did they include contractors I wonder? There were nearly 3x as many cuts to contractors compared to fte’s in my region. But it was still only around 15% of fte’s. Maybe the blade is going deeper on Friday.

ID doesn’t have an office. Just several people working remote on the PNW verizon project.

I work in security. By Friday there will be almost 1400 let go. Per the FedEx label order system, there are 1538 labels to be mailed out for laptop retrievals. Puerto Rico is gone. Nearly every office on the east coast that is network supported is gone. West coast will close CA, OR, ID, and 1 AZ office. We're told that they get their notices Friday.

I don't care this is leaked because I was let go after getting stabbed in the back. My last day is Friday, but my laptop and ID have already been disabled. I was walked out and told my personal items will be sent to me because I had this access and questioned why so many labels when I shouldn't have "snooped."

I got booted in late 2021 due to the vaccine mandate. I feel sorry for my former coworkers to have to go through this but it couldn't have happened to a worse company. Total DEI/ESG sellouts, unqualified to run a lemonade stand, leading 2 great former businesses (with many more rolled in previously) into a steaming pile of sh-t. Well done Exec team and Board.

Combined numbers nation wide. It’s not just I&O as PD was run through as well. Ohio, Carolinas were hit hard. Wish more people would share.

Can confirm 1500 people were laid off yesterday and or notified of expected exit date. That’s 30% of 5,000 employees. Of course VWA’s are included in the number, but it’s quite obvious it wasn’t 10%

Layoffs were to save money for the future sale of the business (10%). Clean the books and look good for 2025 sale to Digital Colony Partners and EQT Infrastructure IV Fund (Zayo)

All others are employees they’ve been waiting for an opportunity to let go. (Acceptable loss)

I was let go today. At first I was sad, but now it's like I don't have to deal with the bullsh-t of this place anymore. One of the poorest run companies i've ever worked for. I've heard "every company is poorly run" so many times over the last few years. They're not this bad.

If you are going to come here and say my team was impacted, at least mention the team. What teams are affected? What useless managers and directors got canned?

I'm impacted and most of my team is. My last day is Friday. We thought our team was safe.

Frankly, there's too much fluff across all levels in that company. Past CEO behaved as if it were a tech giant swimming in investor cash. The core issue, evident in this discussion, is the disconnect between the Tower and Fiber divisions. They never truly integrated or understood each other's operations. The Tower side won't escape unscathed either.

Anyone who got laid off today, congratulations. We are free. Free from the ongoing pressure to drink the purple kool aid. To brown/purple nose unqualified management. We are free from managers who couldn’t ever do what we do daily. We wouldn’t have any more kool aid left in the kitchen to drink anyway. Or an office to sit on Teams meetings all day. Or half a bonus to look forward to next year.
My coworkers were the only reason I ever liked Crown. Management, if you tell someone what to do every day and couldn’t be able to do it yourself, you were/are the problem. Good luck figuring out how to reassign projects in all of your terrible systems.

I remember last year when Towers was going through this and network people were coming on here and leaving nasty comments. Karma is coming for you.

Sad to see more people leave. But I will say, they kept a lot of the wrong people making business decision and leading teams. ESG is not good.

Good luck to all. Just to let you know, there are great opportunities out there.

All departments are being affected. Small cells, network, towers, ops. No one is safe. Remember when managers and supervisors were told to grade their employees, this is the end result. Lots of tenured high paid employees getting the boot and the new ones with little to no experience staying.

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this again. As an August 23 layoff employee, I know how hard the wait is to find out if you’ll be getting the call or not. The job market is over saturated right now as previously mentioned. It might feel scary at first, but getting off the roller coaster is ok. There are better options out there.

Office closures in Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Plantation. People getting called in the office like herding cattle and dropping the bo-b on them. 2 weeks per year on severance package. Demotions also taking place.
