Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Sold managed services to WIPRO for 500 million.

If you’re supporting MNS you’re being forced to be employed by WIPRO. They’re making offers to att employees. If you refused you aren’t given severance and you don’t have a job. Who knows if this will be a silver lining after giving blood sweat and tears to T for 25 years. First wave is changing badge 8/1

Yup, Happened before. However, we were forced (if not no job, severance) to go to AT&T.
We called it a hostile takeover.
We sat in our same seats, did the same work but now for AT&T.
When the time came to leave our home base and find another job within AT&T we were treated terribly. We were outsiders.

WIPRO corporate HQ is in India. All those who hate DEI, rejoice, bc DEI programs will be nonexistent.

What an opportunity for a paid vacation while looking for new income sources somewhere else. Make sure to convert all family and friends to another provider.

"Lot of Fed Gov accounts here too, security clearances transferring to WIPRO?"

Yes. That was discussed on a teams meeting today. Security clearance easily transfers with the individual employees.

What a shame. Guess this makes my having gotten out last December with severance seem pretty good in hindsight.

At least MMS employees will continue to have jobs at the same salary. This will provide at least a year to look for other employment and secure another job externally. This is similar to the advance notice management has received with RTO.

Another forced rebadge. No severance. Take it or leave it. You’ll be gone within 6 months if you do take it. Seen this happen with others. None are still around.

It’s a rebadging, others have gone through the same process to Tech Mahindra, Microsoft, etc.. Those former employees then trained their replacements and most were let go within a year. It’s a way for AT&T to offload their severance liability, the new company usually has a reduced or no severance. Be forewarned!

Mns is non union. There’s no stewards. Att mangers who support the product will get an offer from WIPRO. T has given no option other than to accept it. If you don’t accept, T offers zero severance. You’re also blocked from applying to any other position in T and are not releasable.
