Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Are there any positive people here?

I started reading this forum back in 2020 with the original RIFs. I was laid off. But I'm back and still remaining positive. If fiber gets sold, OK been there done that. If we get laid off ok been there done that. The important thing i think is to remain positive and stop tearing eachother down. Tower is no better than. Fiber or small cell. And fiber is no better than tower. They are all 3 good businesses to be in. We just need a little adjustment. Some help to get where we need to be . I have never Not loved this Company. Through all the ups and downs. It's still better than so many other compamies out there. I just want the best for all who will be effected by whatever our future holds. Sale or RIF.. I don't wish hardship on anyone. Let's all get back to work. You know we have a ton of it. BTW no I am not in HR. Just a long time employee who has bee. Through it all. Stay positive yall.

@ 2zna+1sbHxaic Lightower never turned a profit, but it did grow its top line exponentially mainly through acquisitions. Crown bought Lightower for its fiber plant not its fiber solution business. Crown had no idea how what was involved in running that type of business.

The only thing CC is “good” for, is being a land lord…and not even a good one at that. More like a slum lord!

The failure of tower construction services is a direct reflection of the failure of former tower leadership. It's not just fiber that we fail at. It's everything other than renting tower space.

It is true that towers will and have carried the load in this company. As far an industry leaders, no way. Crown has always under performed compared to its competitors, and that goes back well before they made the mistake of fiber.

Mrs. HR, just so you are aware Towers will always dominate and carry the load. We are leaders in the industry, we just happen to have a burden to carry of fiber and small cell. Leaders lead.

Lightower was never profitable. That's why National Grid offloaded it. Even after NG sold it, LT was sold 2 more times before Crown got su-kered. This happened all in less than a decade. Yeah, LT was so profitable, nobody wanted it.

Fibertech/lightower was a profitable company until crown took over and put crown people in places they shouldn't have been. Crown people changed things every year and now look at it. DEI ruined it

Coming from the lightower acquisition and seeing what Crown has done with Fiber since 2018...they have RUINED an amazing piece of the business. They let so many good people go over the years, not because they weren't good at what they did or weren't great leaders, but because they didn't fit the Crown mold. And then when everyone in Fiber kept asking for help because the expected workload just kept increasing, those squeaky wheels were dealt with too. So things have gotten worse and worse. And now Crown is selling a business that has lost significant value.

Sure, we've been sold and bought before and it might be good in the long run, but for a lot of folks, it's too little too late.

I have been in Central area mtgs where diversity hiring goals were discussed and using pronouns was encouraged, so it definitely happens. But that's not important. And JP WAS a mean-spirited tyrant whose only method to motivate any team at all connected to him was brow-beating and fear. I'm glad he's gone. But bad leaders are everywhere. The reason I just voted against the slate of board of directors and all the other company recommended positions, and for the alternate board nominees, is because of the state of this company and the stock price, which is about $95 today. That's unacceptable - we are all shareholders and no one should award the current company leadership for this chaos and financial weakness.

It’s hard to keep positive with the constant EMT gaslighting, VPs who are hired to meet diversity numbers while being terrible communicators, managers that have remote status but their teams are required to be in offices with no peers on the team…etc. I used to love coming to work but now this is a transactionary relationship. They give us their minimum, we work at a minimum.

Being positive AND/WHILE working at Clown Castle?

Hmmm…..

Impossible. Two polar opposites like day and night.

Time to realize it is just a job, you are a number, and to spend more quality time with family and friends! Leave work at work at look out for yourself, number one!!

Clearly I am someone with a better outlook on life. Negativity really takes a toll on people after a while, you're doing yourself a disservice.
