Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Job postings

Why does Wells Fargo post jobs only to ghost people? I applied for a job that I got laid off from. Never heard a word. Applied for another job and was told they were moving forward with other candidates a month later. Do these jobs even exist?????

it's possible the recruiters do but I haven't heard of it and as someone who has been a hiring manager I see all the apps my recruiter does and look through them as well if not too many
The recruiter will choose who they want to phone screen and I will also provide a list of names that doesn't always match the recruiters.

If you have more than five applications in and you try to apply for another job, you’ll get an error message. Just hit submit again and it will go through. I’ve had up to 12 applications in workday at one time.

I don't know about other HMs, but I look at every resume. Don't care to much what hr wants to screen out, I just ask to put them back in.

Does wells use screening software for internal applications? I’ve always heard someone actually reviews the resumes but could be totally wrong. I know how the op feels, it’s very frustrating trying to move around in the company now. Hr could do a better job.

I think they only want to hire external applicants.

if your app has been sitting in review for a while reach out to the recruiter and ask for a status. You also have the ability to withdrawal you application so if you are maxed out at 5 pending applications you should take some responsibility and withdrawal. If it's been a month or two chances are you aren't getting selected.

They are just getting bombarded with applicayions. Your resume probably isn't making it through the screeners for some reason or another.

I know some reqs would get a 100 apps in two days and they have to shut it down early. Sounds like people are just shotg-nning resumes like crazy regardless of role. Years ago when I was hiring for my team, the HR recruiter told me that some applicants get blacklisted if they determine you're just applying to everything.

There is a max # of applications accepted and then they take down the job regardless of how many days it was to be posted for.

I was with a regional and they do the same thing. The job goes to sponsoring China and India.

It’s especially irritating when your application sits in Review status for months and you have reached your max of 5. The recruiters should, at the very least, reject the application in the system.

You realize Wells Fargo is not one person correct?

No response, your app went to an individual who is bad at their job and hasn’t updated your application yet I the system.

Not selected, someone else beat you to the punch. Not everything is a conspiracy theory despite what most of us trolls here believe.

Opening's are receiving hundreds to even thousands of applications. You could have been at the bottom of the stack of applicants. Ended up not as perfect for the position as someone else appeared, etc.

This is how you know it's not about "location", "RTO", or "efficiency". Shart wants to get rid of us, all of us. You're not alone OP.
