Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is failing for a reason

Performance is lacking, the culture is deteriorating, and ethics are entirely absent. Is it a surprise then that we are failing where others are succeeding?

failure in leadership. The leaders under Pat tricked Pat. Ann tricked Pat, Aziz tricked Ann, managers under Aziz tricked Aziz. 4 levels of top managements are lying and fooling around with low technical knowledge.

Pastor Pat is not capable steer Intel in the right direction. Instead of focusing on operations inefficiencies, he just bloated the Org. He thinks China is stupid. While Pastor Pat is lobbying Biden to sanction China and trying get Govt bailout/subsidy(USA complains other countries of subsidy..lol!), but at the same time he wants to do business in China! China started giving the boot! Pastor Pat thinks he can preach and everyone is gullible enough to drink the coolaid! LOL!
Pastor Pat, Sachin Katti shd get fired. Lower all of the NEX PE, Senior PEs to grade 8 or 9 since they are just doing G8 work. Intel became a org of overpaying marginal employees and promoting them to PE, Senior PEs!!!

Incompetent leadership is the primary reason is continues to fail.

Barrett took his eyes off the golden goose - manufacturing.
Otellini was focused on getting laid and being liked
BK was the worlds biggest mo--n
Swan was there to get rich at the expense of everything else
Pat still exists in 1997 and thinks having events where he holds up a chip is exciting and gonna drive change.

Getting in to the staff levels is even worse. Shenoy fumbled Datacenter, CCG made a horrible decision on disaggregated architecture that they are still dealing with. NEX continues to be a joke and just adds more execs every 20 minutes.

The failings start and end with leadership

It’s unfortunate. Intel won’t look good on a resume anymore.

This will be a Harvard business case soon.

Add to that: Too many managers and not enough workers.

They did cut the liver by firing the old white engineers a few years back. LOL.

@cyp That indicates that their bosses, and ultimately Pat, don't have the expertise to cut. He couldn't tell appendix from liver.

@jju - everyone knows what to do. But management incentive over the past 15 - 20 years has been empire building. Delivering (or not delivering) results stopped being a criterion well over a decade ago. Current management is caught in a multi-way Mexican Standoff where no one wants to unilaterally divest their empires. If you ask the average FLM/SLM, they will agree that Intel is overstaffed - but always on the other team, never their own..

I bet the company doesn't have the expertise to do a layoff. The bosses don't know who is doing what and what's important.
