Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Beat

God, Chuck is not inspiring at all. The opposite in fact. You’d think they could at least hire someone with charisma for the job.

Bet we hear about Fran's adventures at the next (up)-Beat.

I haven’t watched it in four years, a complete waste of my time. No one has ever questioned my none attendance.

@azb+1sdKth1B no need for praying because as sure as death and taxes CR and the ELT will all get a nice pay rise and also award themselves a nice IPF (for those that don’t know CR and the ELT regularly get IPFs of above 2.5 which obviously have a big influence on their bonus rewards).

@urc+1sdKth1B, I don't think they track so much who doesn't check-in, but they do track how many do connect/watch live so if they wanted to, they could check to see who did and who didn't.

We can also watch the recording later if we have business meetings that interfere, and you have to be on VPN and "log in" to access the page via Duo, so again, they have a record of who watches and who doesn't. It's not hard to connect to VPN, start the replay, mute your laptop, and watch TV for 90 min and then close the browser tab once it's done playing the recording if you're that concerned about them dinging you for not watching it.

In my BU, if there are meetings scheduled when a Cisco Beat is announced, the organizer will usually reschedule it because they need to be at the Cisco Beat for "face time" and it's a non-issue for us. Between the Cisco Beat and the BU all-hands/ask-me-anything sessions, we reschedule lots of meetings.

I certainly don't see how meeting w/ the Pope is related to Cisco's business. Did Chuck pay for that part of his trip? As a stock holder, I think that's fraud that Cisco is paying for Chuck to have fun in Europe and see the Pope on Cisco's dime.

Maybe the Pope is fed up with software quality and asked for a meeting with Chuck.

So out of touch it’s staggering.
Sadly, we’re so much in decline that even divine intervention from The Pope won’t save us.

Yeah, he does look Beat.

Designer bags under his eyes.

It's tough to get a good night's sleep knowing you've run a once-great company to the point of no return. The rampant toxicity of your "leadership" on the company culture, along with rock-bottom employee morale, is the icicing on that cake.

Maybe this is a stupid question: Do CISCO track on those who do not call in the Beat or Check-in or All-hands or whatever those "communication" events? There are a lot of project related meetings scheduled from 10am to noon EST time every day. For those who actually are working, it is very difficult to routinely go to those "communication" events.

No one can do a monotone drone like all these guys.

Gallivanting around Europe meeting the Pope, presidents, and dignitaries. Chuck's in the big club and you ain't in it. Is this supposed to be inspiring or something?

I see now why they usually don’t let him emcee. 15 minutes in and it’s just been a waste of time.
