I’m genuinely curious to know how long you have to be in this company to get that “balance” that shows up on your retirement savings, because dear lord.

Vesting schedule for pension or 401k?
After 3 months of employment, call Fidelity and ask for the “ATT Future Champions” inclusion. At the end of one year, Fidelity will enable you for over 200k to prime your pension account. It’s new for this year but will be rescinded in 2025 due to recent financial difficulties.
It’s been 3 years vested to get the company match, ever since I started 26 years ago with Bellsouth. There are rules about withdrawing or getting hardship loans but that’s easily researched for any questions.
If you are referring to the portion of your 401k contributed by the company, you are fully vested at 3 years. Just had to ask and this is what I was told
Mine was 2 years for stock grants and match…but this was some time ago when I got hired and agreed to those terms (4 years or so) I’m hearing it may be longer now, like 3 years.
You can look on fidelity and it will tell you.
I sold ALL my T stock the day it vested.
If you're talking about the pension that isn't given out to anybody anymore it actually says it on your net benefits.com page specifically for you, but if you're actually getting money put into it by the company then you're probably vested because the program ended so long ago for everybody else
We used to hire people who could read. Why are you asking people on this forum when YOU will be vested? Go read your 401k plan on hr website. Do you have access to internet?
Depends on your pension mine is vested at 5 years. It should tell you on the website
5 years
You really get nothing anymore, even after meeting modified rule of 75. All you get is the balance of your 401K plus any earned but unused vacation. I know, "cry me a river". Can you even imagine what shape this country will be in 25 years from now. No pensions all the illegal aliens looking to get food and shelter, no Social Security. The country will be just like at&t, busted a## broke, unable to pay the bills!
Don’t listen to anyone who says you have to meet the Rule of 70!. That means nothing’
51 years
It is best to call Fidelity
Start being vested 1 year and 4 months to be, then more vested every month.
"vested" suggests you have met the milestone
