SKO 2024

Expecting a sales kick-off this year or is there too much kicking-out to sort through before hand?

That's us, cisco employees.

The people who make up well over 90% of the combined company so the odds aren't that much worse.

How about the benefits (medical, dental, 401k, ESPP) and salary for the Splunk employees?

Splunk showed real and growing profits recently which means they're paying for that themselves. If they can keep it up you want to encourage that and only interfere with them to the degree you can integrate Cisco's and Splunk's technologies to provide even greater earnings.

That Cisco overpaid for Splunk?
That is even not a question and there are no documents for it. Just use your head.

About the 3 years no Splunk employees, I don't know. But who cares ? All you need to know you bought something for a reason. Whatever it may be. You would most likely not want to make it look bad by letting go some of it. Your only other option is to let go of things you already had. That's us, cisco employees. It's not rocket science.

Btw, we say we paid 28bil. That's for the acquisition only. How about the benefits (medical, dental, 401k, ESPP) and salary for the Splunk employees? That sure has to add another billion over time.

Good luck

“ Cisco overpaid for Splunk and given they can’t touch any Splunkers for 3 years, we’ve been designated as the sacrificial lambs for the culling.”

People keep saying this but I haven’t seen in a single transaction document that it’s the case. Can someone actually point to a document that states that?

What is the return on a massive SKO event? With Cisco Live? Seems like the only purpose is for sales teams to socialize for 2 weeks. Would like to see hard numbers to quantify the expense.

I'm not familiar with SKO, is that like a Cisco Live typically held in Vegas?

As for the layoffs coming, I bet they do it in one sweep. Although, all this splunk propaganda seems to be an attempt to lift up spirits after the last LR. I wonder if that's any indication of a one-two punch coming.

I want to say that a single, larger LR would be better for morale, but honestly both are gonna su-k regardless.

Last time this year, email notifications had gone out 2 weeks ago to book flight and hotel for Vegas.

The fact that they haven’t sent out anything yet indicates layoffs are guaranteed. The only question is will there be one round of layoffs in May and another in July (post July 4th shutdown) or will there be only one round towards the end of July.

Add that they’re moving to a stacked ranking performance review every 6 months and now also requiring that each of us enter our performance reflections in Workday, tells you everything you need to know about what’s coming.

Cisco overpaid for Splunk and given they can’t touch any Splunkers for 3 years, we’ve been designated as the sacrificial lambs for the culling.

The question is, you can wait and let others decide your fate or you can decide your fate and leave on your own terms.
