Pastor Pat is not capable steer Intel in the right direction. Instead of focusing on operations inefficiencies, he just bloated the Org. He thinks China is stupid. While Pastor Pat is lobbying Biden to sanction China and trying get Govt bailout/subsidy(USA complains other countries of subsidy..lol!), but at the same time he wants to do business in China! China started giving the boot! Pastor Pat thinks he can preach and everyone is gullible enough to drink the coolaid! LOL!
Pastor Pat, Sachin Katti shd get fired. Lower all of the NEX PE, Senior PEs to grade 8 or 9 since they are just doing G8 work. Intel became a org of overpaying marginal employees and promoting them to PE, Senior PEs!!!
During BK it was mostly the board. BK is a typical MBA. He doesn't have an MBA, but was a C engineering student. He resented how the people running TD had always treated him and was happy to carry out the board's plans - or else there was always Murthy (his backup) hanging over his head. Manufacturing chips for client and server was a monopoly that Intel controlled. The problem was the market was saturated, and the profits were huge, but the stock buybacks and dividends were not going up. The strategic decision was to go barebones on the chip manufacturing and design part of the company. Costs could be cut and the most profitable businesses could go on autopilot. There was increased revenue to be made in drones, self driving cars, and consumer electronics such as smart watches and charging bowls.

When Pat came in he had a chip on his shoulder (pun intended) and cleaned house, which started the decent to where it is today. IDM2.0 could work once Intel turns on the EUV machine and start printing money, but between now and then it may lose some more chips like in poker where patience is key.

When Intel was the king, it guarded its know how by spreading it among a vast number of people, each of them tried to hoard his little bit of info for job security. The result is that nobody knows much of anything, including the top guys.
Now it's king no more. And they have a lot more people, still nobody knows anything.
