Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

How Many?

How many impacted employees do we think will be announced on the May earnings? I have a feeling it will be on par or larger than last quarters. You can't spend 28 billion and keep everything the same.

To make this easier:
Look at anyone that uses pronouns in their LinkedIn, email signature, conversation and say goodbye
I can't believe how much profile politics are here, don't get me wrong I really don't care about folks personal life
But quite clearly lots of these individuals are using them as a crutch in their role

They should limit it to folks in their sixties who are closer to typical retirement age and are far less likely to move to a competitor.

If they're any good you're still paying to get rid of talent when you want to get rid of people who aren't moving the ball forward. If they aren't any good paying extra to get rid of them makes no sense. Either way from a business perspective ER is a stupid idea.

Cisco could and should offer an ER. They should limit it to folks in their sixties who are closer to typical retirement age and are far less likely to move to a competitor. This would exemplify "conscious culture" without being discriminatory.
It would be a far better business decision to enable an older tired worker to retire and preserve the job of a hardworking person who still needs a stable job to sustain their family’s standard of living.

ER=Early Retirement. will cisco ever bring this back?

As covered here for the better part of a decade, the best took ER and were at their next job the following Monday. Paying the best to go to your competitors is just plain stupid.

If you think about it
How many people get paid on a deal
AM, specialist/s, DAM, SAM, PAMs, managers
We could be leaner and meaner
Bloated org
We should trim and optimise

Earning releases (ER) dates are now becoming regular Employees Release (ER) events.

Each ER event is meant to beat previous LR numbers.
