Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Leaving … T-Mobile or Verizon

After 25 years of never paying a full cell phone bill I’m getting laid off and for sure am taking my money with me.

Does anyone have recommendations or experience on which provider they went to?

Based on what I am hearing T-Mobile is better financially.

Can’t wait to call in and cancel this account!

There's Ultra Mobile as well. Cheaper than Mint mobile.

I am retired from AT&T and I switched a T-Mobile 55+ senior plan with 2 lines now paying half of what I was paying with AT&T even with the discount. And received a new iPhone for fee for switching! I wish I’d done this years ago!!

And don’t cancel your account. Let your new carrier port it for you. ATT won’t let you keep your current # with the new provider. When I moved to t-mobile my ATT account disconnected automatically." Do you mean you can keep the # by porting over if the new carrier ports it for you? You should be able to hold on to your #.

Yes. That’s exactly what I mean. I called AT&T to cancel my service first I and was told I couldn’t take my number with me. So I let TMob make the transfer.

Whoever bashes "cricket id--t" do you not think I don't know that? I am trying to help this guy out and cricket cost me as much as my discount did with the exact same service. I didn't have luck inside buildings or rural areas with tmoblie and verizon was expensive. That's just my experience so shove your snark up your a-s.

TMO. For the employee discounted price I was paying for 4 lines of domestic use , I now get 4 lines of unlimited talk, data and text, 4 brand new iPhones 15; unlimited international roaming; Apple TV; 2 screens of Netflix, and a year of AAA. I also have all international calls included , including those to landlines.

Here is an idea, let’s all switch to the competition because they write our checks. The small amount of money saved, will surely make up for being laid off.

It truly depends on the turf you are in and which company got the best spectrum buys for that part of the country. Verizon is going to have the edge in most places outside of city centers.

"I went with Cricket"

I see our cricket id10t is back,

Cricket is nothing more than a branded re-seller.
They have no network, no towers, no switches, nothing but a name.
They piggyback on the Cingular (AT&T if you go along with branding everything) network.

Oh yes, here is what apparently some uninformed people don't know

Cricket is 100% owned by AT&T, yes, they are nothing different than AT&T.

Cricket id10t please go away........

I'm in the process of switching to T-mobile. The plan I am choosing will save me lots of money, even with the AT&T employee discount.

Depends on where you are. I went with Cricket because it is about what I was paying with the discount.

I like Visible. It's Verizon but if you sign up using PayPal you get an extra $5 off per month. Just search the term Visible PayPal and you should find it.
