It has everything to do with their ability to lead...

If that's the criteria Cisco has an endless list of people who can lead it into the ground.

Sadly the majority of humans will always follow the confident over the competent. While Chuck created growth where John couldn't, the masses still love the smile and soft voice of John.

Liz Centoni is a joke. Arguably the WORST leader. She has destroyed every business she has touched. Period. Bets are high that she will quickly destroy CX. In her direct report line up is Sandeep Milar, who is like a kindergartener pretending he is in college. No experience and is running a 2,000 person organization (6 months ago he was a Senior Director with 6 direct reports). What is Cisco thinking? Chuck is asleep at the wheel. He needs to be fired.

True on 1st point. Andy B., Ken D. and David C started Arista (Andy bank rolled) back in '04. Jayshree joined in '08 as CEO. Chambers did not push her out. She took the better offer.

Don't make out like that dude has come up with some kind of incredible insight. The only thing that is constant is change is one of the most ridiculous cliche's ever. Jesus, use a little critical thought instead of drinking a gallon of koolaid just because someone's skin color is the same tone as yours. The reason why asians are kicking a-s is because they have strong biases and they don't shackle themselves with self-hating rhetoric. More power to them, but don't make out like it's because they're more intelligent or more capable in some way.

Promoting and hiring based on color IS discrimination. Keeping them around - and HR directs you to based on color is pathetic and incompetent. Yet that's csco. Also, Chambers should have been gone in 2009-2010. Don't forget he was at the helm when wang collapsed too so Chambers was a long way from being a great ceo.
