Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Confirmed

Welp. Adding 401k to full timers (which I didn't know was ever taken away) pretty much means we aren't leaving dsd. They wouldn't add 401k back to only leave dsd 4 months later.. It does however probably mean reps will be let go which is why they are trying to make the FTOW more desirable. Reps will be let go in April 2025. They will be offered a buyout or ftow position. There will be some new positions such as territory managers that will be offered to selective reps.

I agree with the person who agreed with "Confirmed." Pathetic, weak, spineless DM's who at this point are nothing more than overpaid merchandisers and professional email forwarders. They offer nothing in terms of leadership, motivation or inspiration. They have no real authority, and offer nothing in terms of help when it comes to employees approaching them with real concerns and issues.
Mission 1 is a complete failure, and all they have is their dime-store management training response- it's going great, we're just short staffed! Well, one of the main ideas behind mission 1 was hiring a lot more merchandisers, even though they hadn't been able to hire any that stuck around for the prior three years.
If you think your job (FTOW, Sales Reps) is safe, you're wrong.

I worked for mdlz for 7 years and PT and FT non salaried did not get a 401k prior. I started out as a pt merch and worked my way up to an SR.

401k wasn't 'taken away' from full time that have been with the company. All the new hires and those pt forced to go ft were not given the option for 401k when Mission 1 started. Also the company match of up to 4% is less than I currently get. Waiting to hear from my boss if I get to keep my current 401k rate or get knocked down when it's offered to all. :(

Not only does this company think people are stupid that people will make a career as an order writer making a low pay salary with sales rep responsibility they think they can fool people too. Just like they did with giving back the 401k to full timers they put up a “you asked we listened” well they didn’t listen to my feedback I left when they did those stupid surveys last summer when I came up with an idea on how they can make this dysfunctional system somewhat better but instead they gave us polos, jackets and sweatshirts thanking us for our participation in the survey. Not only did they not listen but they continue to push this failing system even more to the point that they want to continue to get rid of reps and rms create territory manager and dump more work on FTOW. In some parts of the country it’s already like this but in my area no territory managers yet but if enough reps quit I’m sure it’ll be rolled out in either Q3 or Q4 of this year and if not than reps and RMS’s will probably be offered packages and select ones will stay on as territory managers and others will be let go. So the while you asked we listened is just trying to fool people into thinking “all full timers finally get 401k” when meanwhile they’re only giving back what they took away from us. I think it’s just best we all try and get out of here while we still can.

Just because they're offering 401K doesn't mean they won't exit DSD eventually.
It's a process folks.
They're breaking it down gradually.
Sales reps will be next to go and will probably be offered order writer positions.

I agree with the "Confirmed" comment. They need FTOWs so they can terminate the sales rep position. By doing so, they think FTOWs are going to stick around and get paid a pretty pathetic salary, minus a company car, and do the job of a rep. This company really thinks people are stupid. As it is, they can't hold on to good people. Poor management from top to bottom. District managers who are weak and spineless and do nothing for their employees, and their superiors who have no answers, and no good ideas.

If they offer one, they don’t have to! I’d never stick around in hopes I’d get a severance! Never ever!
