Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Do you return back to Intel if it is willing to hire you back?

Just a curiosity for those layoff employees and why?

Package + retirement. Would go back with a more relaxed approach. Why? Pay and benefits are good. After a year plus off some cash and insurance would be nice. If not healthy for me, I would leave again though. Would have to be job and group I’m good with. Some hard no orgs or jobs.

I knew a guy went to Meta less than a year and come back to Intel.

So not sure why not.

Yea, I'd return as my 2nd job to do bare minimum work and collect some nice undeserved cash while focusing on my primary job.

Why not return to grab free tax payer money? You should just return like previous laid off Paster Pat that is just talking shiitt and get millions $$$ every year to chunk out unstable, defected products every time.

Not until Intel does a major cleaning and thinning of its bloated management ranks. That is not likely to happen, so no, I won't be back.

I did it already. Had a great time first stint for 10 years from 2003 to 2012. Was approached to go back in 2021 and so believing that the Intel I knew and loved was “back with a bang”. What a mistake! It was just awful so I jumped first chance I could and took a CPM package in 2023. so so cr@p the second time and I witnessed behaviours that really weren’t there at least in my group the first time around . Avoid avoid avoid .

Each time I come back to Intel I try a new escape plan.

Yes for $500k sign on bonus and a contract of $1M per year with 3 year minimum and a $500k package if laidoff :)

I am rather returning back to mental hospital than returning back to Intel.

It’s like asking if you want to work for

Blockbuster
Kodak
Circuit city
Alta vista
Wang computer or
Enron

Dinosaurs that’s rightfully went extinct.

There is too much of bureaucracy, corruption and politics in intel, but that is the business model Intel has been holding on, they believe this is the way to thrive. Sorry, i was never the boot licking employee, never had the talent. Wasn't good in politics either. The amount of toxicity really demotivates me.

Take a leap of faith, there are better companies, better compensation, better leaders out there.

I will only be back when i trust that my hiring manager is the leader i want to work with.

I might consider if I can get just barely 1% of failing executives compensation and a helicopter transportation to new office

I told several headhunter companies over the years to stop calling me with job offers from Intel. I will never work in that hellhole again. Looks like I was correct in that assessment.

He-l no.

Intel needs to pay way above market rates to make anyone competent even consider them.

You know that ain’t happening.

Why? Sounds like a cesspool with problems too big for me to fix, I’m not a C-level executive. I’m learning more and making better money now, so Intel would have to try pretty hard to persuade me back.
