Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Question for the STL Finance Group

Are you guys going to the CFO presentation today to speak your mind or boycotting it entirely? I'm asking so the other departments can back you up either way.

Context: I've heard that the Finance people in STL got their letters last Monday (move or leave by EOY). Exactly 1 week prior to the CFO doing a town hall style meeting in STL. Assuming that's true, that's a whole new level of disrespect towards T employees.

Looks like there is no RTO here:

Greater Depressions aren’t very nice things.

What dumpster fire. Everyone knows it’s a cluster and then you’re fired. Sh-t show all day and night. Thanks RJS for such a legacy. Maybe they’ll name a urinal after you.

Does anyone have confirmation if STL finance was hit and what their timeline is? Are they being given till end of year to move or less time, etc?

"It’s actually commendable for leadership"

There is nothing this leadership does that is "commendable". Well, maybe if they all jumped off a roof or something.

What it may do is meet the minimum standard for decency by management. I say that having been a people manager for several decades and delivered plenty of bad news eye to eye.

But I said "may" because what they will likely do is blow off any questions about RTO. That's been the trend at town halls lately - from Chewning's "we're done talking about this" to Sambar's smarmy, sickening, mocking tone in Q&As. (Yes Chrissie, the only thing that's "toxic" is you.)

Managers have known for over a year location requirements for many positions are changing, so the official notice shouldn’t be a surprise when received. It’s actually commendable for leadership to continue to visit and hold a town hall style.
