If you don't fall in with the right click, you're sc--wed. You end up doing all the work while others are enjoying their "I'm good with the manager" privileges and you have no chance of being promoted. Don't even get me started on others taking credit for your work and getting away with it. I thought I was done with that sh-t once I was done with school. I guess I was wrong.

I don’t know what it’s like at EM but this sounds EXACTLY like bp. We have so much nepotism, cliques, double-talk, hypocrisy and backstabbing!

Not really like HS. The problem is that Exxon always allowed shameless nepotism without appreciating how far the "political" nepotism tentacles reach. People are always looking for any advantage. Most solid companies have policies against what happens at Exxon. Consequently,vEM has nitwit milquetoast nepotism legacies running around garnering political support based on perceived legacy connections. Very sad
Maybe some of these managers and executives were never the “cool kid” in high school. They’re taking advantage of it now and anyone who falls to their feet gets promoted. Look at what’s happening in UNconvetional.

That’s an accurate description. High School behavior in educated adults. But some of the XOM people take stealing and cronyism to a whole new level.
