Anyone else communicated results from a recent site attendance study and given a “courtesy notice” that their group will now take and communicate attendance to upper management? Curious as to whether this is widespread to other sites/campus.

Just goes to reinforce the trope that nothing important happens in the office. People complaining about WFH and making statements like “EM gets most of its profits from subsidies” need a reality check about what the actual business of an IOC is.
Maybe they’ll consolidate the campus more to free up another bldg that stays empty as no one would ever want to deal with our rules.
The system tracks when and where you are docked into network. VPN or at XOM sites
They are using it to also determine building space requirements as they continue to eliminate properties and go to 2ft phone center formats
Stop whining! It’s so embarrassing. Bunch of overpaid pa----s that couldn’t make it in a real company. Come on, stop embarrassing yourselves!!
Man up and get to the office.
Put away the bunny slippers and pajamas and just get dressed and go to work. Trust me you can do it without mommy’s help.
And while you’re at it turn the tv off and stop baby sitting the kids while on the clock . I’m get tire of hearing them and the dog in the background of the zoom meeting while you pretend to work.
And for all those who claim they are more productive working at home, this is the exception not the rule.
We always tracked attendance at all sites since everyone signs in with their badge. We might not review the attendance records but for I can assure you with 100% certainity that they have been used since 2020 to PIP, NSI, dismiss employees.
If you took a job with company and were immediately given WFH days, then you can whine if that changed. I’ll bet everyone of us jumped at taking a job with XOM working M-F at a desk in a company office or in the field behind a windshield. Not happy about learning that you are tracked, I hear CVX is hiring. They hardly do anything over there and “WFH” regularly…
I am Campus assigned but work in an Engineering Contractor’s office 3 to 4 days per week.
Their system of monitoring probably assumes I work from home.
Luckily when Execs demand data like this, their decisions are already made and the person assigned to collect data changes all the numbers to support the Exec’s pre made decisions.
Facts and details are irrelevant.
ok, non-US so take that into account:
- badge in by 9 AM - failed, i show up after 9:00 because nothing happens in the morning
- cannot take more than 2 Fridays off or any combo of Friday or Monday - failed, i am so done with the office by Friday, i will likely work from home and it helps my mental well being and productivity significantly
- no more than 3 WFH days a month, etc - mmm... excuse me? Flex your Day is meant to only allow 3 WFH days a month in an environment where a lot of employees work in virtual teams and need to manage multiple time zones?
as per usual, way more stricter than makes sense for a large number of employees. as someone who is at the office 4 out of 5 work days, i am looking forward to this nonsense time waste conversation with my admin supervisor. and dropping my attendance % further.
At least in Spring, the occupancy rate is also monitored by the State and local authorities - for tax-break purposes.
So it is very important for a company that gets most of profit from subsidies, like EM.
Elaborate. What “shows everything about you”.. ? @1asm+1srQMdsg
This is what happens when your CEO is hung like a field mouse.
What’s CX going to do?
Had a great year delivering results but mostly WFH? Expect it to affect your ranking.
It used to only give numbers by org. Now it shows everything about you
goto/wito
This was created right after we started returning to the office in 2020 so it's been around a few years. Haven't heard any recent rumblings on its use.
I was told about the tracking last year.
@qty+1srQMdsg
I understand it’s based on badge swipes and select parameters depending on the department (e.g: badge in by 9 AM, cannot take more than 2 Fridays off or any combo of Friday or Monday, no more than 3 WFH days a month, etc)
@qty+1srQMdsg The view I have seen only gives numbers, but without doubt there is the ability to trend by groups and also individuals
We need more information on the dashboard. Does it drill down and show individuals? Or is it just total numbers? Give more details.
So stupid. I can always bank on getting nothing accomplished when I work on campus, due to a constant stream of unnecessary, non-collaborative interruptions. Do you just value my butt's being in a chair where you can see me, or do you prefer that I'm actually producing for the company? Seriously out of whack priorities here.
I wouldn't say I've seen any "you must come to the office communications" but if you are perseptive you can get the hint that there are initiatives to track absence due to illness and chronic no showers to site.
Its there and I think it will become more obvious in the future.
Incredible what corporates are stooping to. Fascinating to see the inevitable row back (and more) after the 'new ways of working' during covid. You can only control if you see the person. We must therefore be seeing you at all times.
The inadequacy of supervision and management is palpable.
Sh1t! This will get Annandale exposed badly. We like to WFH here, saving gas and helping the net-zero
As OP, I wish I were joking. My upline management is not known for their sense of humor, unfortunately.
It’s not a joke, there is a dashboard that shows #personnel on campus. It does not use badge swipe, but your connection to the network. DW is watching you
As someone very rightly posted recently, this company is slowly turning into an Orwellian dystopia... 😟
I really hope that is a joke.
What a joke
Are they going to implement hall monitors too?
