Personal email in Workday

Got an email this morning to update Workday with my personal email.. should I take it as a sign?

My boss has either cancelled or hasn’t come to our biweekly 1:1s since my year end review in the beginning of the year. He hasn’t responded to my emails in which I raised a concern about the cancelled 1:1s or where I wanted to discuss my work. It’s crazy..

Personal email requested last week (even though it was already in the system). Yesterday displaced.

I got an email yesterday to update Workday with my personal email. I didn't worry about it and went to bed last night. When I logged into my computer this morning, I saw the 1on1 meeting invite from my manager. I declined and politely asked him to reschedule. But he said it was urgent. So I accepted and went to the call. As suspected, he said my job was eliminated. He told me to update Workday with my personal email, cancel all future PTOs and log off as soon as possible.

With regard to your boss skipping 1:1s I’d contact his boss and if no change in next four weeks then contact HR.

Why would some employees like @fct not get the email and others would unless it is for layoffs? You can’t electronically sign your package without your personal email address since they plan on severing your access. It only makes sense to me. The email says distributed to SELECT US & APAC employees.

@xdu I’ve worked here over 10 years with no personal email listed and now received the email. I ever went back to archived folders and never received this email in previous years. Why now? Your friend in HR isn’t being honest or doesn’t know. Seems to me we’re on a list. Otherwise, why didn’t I get this request before? I don’t think we’re paranoid; just logical.

This thread makes one feel very sorry for WF employees. Very Sad paranoia.

I didn’t get the email but I checked Workday and I already had my personal email on my profile. My friend in HR said they are sending the request for personal email to everyone who doesn’t already have their email on file. There are a record number of layoffs forthcoming and the timing is suspicious but they ask for this info to be updated annually.

@kvj+1svYXdUE Since you’re still considered an FTE during non working days..you must respond— especially if your manager reaches out. Do not put severance in jeopardy!

@kvj you were laid off. Why do you care is something isn’t finished when they show you the door? Let the geniuses that laid you off figure it out.

layoff question -- once you are given notice that your 60 day period starts and you are cut off -- does that mean that people you worked with that have questions on stuff can't contact you anymore and you aren't allowed to even talk to them to wrap things up?

I'm not remote and in a core location and also received the email. It doesn't mean anything.

Nothing abnormal about this. This has always been a requirement but multiple thousands of people did not comply. If you are a newer employee then you just never did it or your onboarding process did not accomplish it.

Now of course this information is used later in post-employment communications but again, you should do this. If you don’t you’ll lose level of access to online information and all comms will be via paper snail mail.

But the timing is odd because tomorrow is Tuesday and your 2nd paragraph describes the perfect pre-condition for a typical displacement. You might get a sudden meeting invitation from your manager.

Core site here. My understanding is most people got that email if they didn't have a personal email on file. This is not the first time I've seen them push for your email or phone number on file. They like to use it for the Evergreen system.

I didn't get this email (remote, non-core). My personal email is populated in Workday because I anticipated being let go at some point. So maybe this is going out to users with a missing personal email. To your point, this is how you will get instructions to sign for salary continuation leave and the invitation for Displacement Orientation.

One of the things Displacement Operations told me when I had to displace somebody was to check in Workday to make sure the personal email was correct/present. Without knowing all the particulars of your situation, the change in communication pattern and request for personal email, in my opinion, might indicate you are part of an active displacement cohort or upcoming location disposition.

I received the same email. I am an advisor with WFA so I don’t think this is a sign of anything. However I do t even like them having my work email so no I won’t be giving them my personal email.

I came here to ask the same thing, I got the same email as did a couple peers on my team. All of us are full-time remote and at non-core/specialty sites.

You appear to be doing your job just fine.

Probably yes. At least when they displace you. You can get all your info emailed to you instead of coming here or calling HR in India😂
