I am on notice now.. that ends beginning of July... Can i accept a contract position mid July? Will I still get my full severance and notice period pay?
Are they (notice pay and severance) paid lump sum or bi-weekly or monthly?

To find out if you had another job they would either need to monitor social media to see if you changed LinkedIn in or the like… or they would have to run a background check on you - which you would have had to authorize when signing the severance agreement.
Have you read the severance agreement?
You don't lose your severance unless you start a job during your 60 day notice. Check your packet for the dates and reach out to Displacement Service w questions
In this situation, I would consult an employment lawyer. https://www.fastcompany.com/90723978/you-have-more-power-than-you-think-when-negotiating-a-severance-package
Mine said that severance packages are usually filled with such language (if you get rehired this severance stops). Seldom are the threats enforced.
start during notice period: Since it is clearly stated in the layoff letter you "could" use your severance and the last weeks of the notice period if you get a new job.
I tried and did not find an employee start date service that ADP provides. I found out the SSA does NOT provide start date service.
Privacy Protections: The SSA has strict privacy regulations to protect individuals' personal information, including their employment history.
Focus on Benefits: The SSA's primary function is to manage Social Security contributions and benefits. They wouldn't be involved in verifying employment details for other purposes.
start after notice period: If you are on a 1099 then there is not problem. Many people have two jobs: you will have two jobs: one the severance job and the other your new job.
During notice or severance do not update your Linkedin profile.
They will turn over every rock to try and get you to leave for a new job during the 60 day notice period. That's why they let you leave immediately. You might forget its still notice period where you wouldn't if you were going to the office still. Do not. You will lose your severance and yes they will find out if you take a W2 or 1099 job.
Sure you can, as long as you are ok with forfeiting your severance package.
The rule is: Yes, you can accept a position after the 60-day notice period and still receive your full severance. If you accept a position during the 60-day notice period you will not get severance.
Yes. Look at the benefits book and it allows it. Pg 454 left side. Not so if during the 60 day notice period. Must be in severance period.
Sure why not!
